Hello,

I have version 1.6 BOX I bought the Xodus SP adapter so I can go solderless with the XEcuter 2.6 CE. I have installed both on box. Installation seems fine, but when chip is on the box does not boot up(red and green lights flash after box turns off and on 3 times) when the chip is off it boots up fine? Is this a bios problem? IF so how can I fix this? Or do u think the SP adapter and chip is not a good idea(i have read on many sites they are compatiable)

THanks, any help will be greatly appericated, I really don't know what to do I am such NOOBBBB

This is a Xodus SP issue - if the pins are not making good contact then you'll have this issue. Also remember that the X2.6 has a larger socket, so make sure it's plugged in correctly.

Don't know if you have solved your problem, but I solved my similar problem by connecting the alternate 5V to the 2.6CE.

It would appear that though the Xodus S.P. is universal and will work with the 2.6CE, it does not bring 5V to the socket in a way that is usable by the 2.6CE.

FYI, I got one of those micro spring-loaded hook clips (like the ones on logic analyzers, if that means anything to you) and soldered the red wire that came with the 2.6CE to the clip and then hooked that to the alternate 5V. It is not completely solderless, but at least there are no permanent mods to the mobo.

I am guessing that the HD and LAN LEDs will probably not work either, but I do not particularly care so I will leave them alone. (Leave well enough alone, I say)

Just my two cents, hope it helps.

Now to go flash that BIOS....

hehe - FYI, the exact same thing is used on the new Xapt3r 1.6 solderless :)

Great minds think alike!

(Or fools seldom differ... I like the first one better. ;) )

I still wonder what is the use of the pin sticking out the side of the S.P.? Based on the kit with the inline ID clip and extra red wire with the matching socket, I expected it was for the 5V connection. My trusty voltmeter shows it to be 0v... <shrug> Well it works now...
