I have just purchased the X2.6CE and had it installed by system mod's. I am brand new to this scene and very very interested, though I am totally in the dark. I have no idea what programs to download or anything. Basically, I want to be able to create back up files (dvd's) for my games, and have no idea how to go about it. I do not have an external hard drive, and am having trouble finding an external burner for my pc. If anyone can help me out and get me started, it would be greatly appreciated.

You can backup your games using Qwix assuming if you connect your Xbox to your PC via a crossover cable. Then, you can just burn that to a DVD. Qwix can be downloaded from the downloads section of this site.

You can get a crossover from any computer store. They should be with the rest of the network cables. You don't want a patch though, make sure it is a crossover. You could also get one of the "Xbox System Connect" cables, all they are is a green, expensive crossover cable.

Or, if you have a router, you could plug your Xbox into the router with a regular cable.

No, you don't need an external DVD writer. You will need a DVD writer though, there aren't very many games that will fit on a CD.
