i have installed the xecuter 2.6 with the xapter solderless adapter. I have tried to put the switch bank on but the cable doesnt seem to insert properly it only goes in 1/2 way although it does fit width ways and im positive this is the right cable. when i boot it just goes to the flubber screen is this just because i dont have the switch bank attached or could this be another reason? shouldnt it go to the cromwell bios screen because this is swhat is loaded onto the chip?
Someone please help

Have you tried flipping the cable over and inserting it? The new cables are somewhat difficult to get into the connectors, so you may have to push on them. Yes, it should go to the flashbios screen if everything is working properly. Do you get any lights on your chip with the Xbox on? What about on the solderless adaptor?

No LEDs on the chip means your chip isn't getting power. What color is your adaptor? Check your install again.

i;m having the same problem. installed my 2.6 with the solderless adapter and get nothing but flubber. the chip and controller are lit up and the adapter looks like an xmas tree. tried both banks to no avail. i'm a noob and this is probably something simple i've missed but its got me beat, any ideas? btw when i connect the D0, hdd, lan cable to the chip then touch the gray wire to the D0 connector on the adapter my xbox frags.

The adaptor has a D0 connection, so there is no use in using the grey wire. What happens when the chip is off?

i just had this same problem. i kinda felt stupid but the 2.6 is keyed to look like you have to insert the chip to line up with the missing pin. i looked again at the install instructions and in fact the first row (with the missing hole) shouldn't line up with the single pin..but should not be used at all. once i made this shift...voila...everything worked!!

hope this simple solutions works!
