I have just installed the Xecuter 2.6 chip into a 1.6b x-box along with a platinum 120Gb hard drive. The hard drive has a Xecutor2 flashbios in it, but when i ran the bios the x-box shuts off like it should yet when i turn it back on it just goes back to the blue screen of 3.0.3 flash bios and won't go into the hard drive's Evo-x dashboard. I havn't found an answer yet in any forums? Anyone know whats going on?

When you say xecuter2 flashbios, do you mean flashbios, or X2 50xx? If it is flashbios, you are flashing over flashbios with flashbios, so the behavior is expected. At any rate, since you are seeing flashbios 3.03, I am guessing you are booting from bank 2. Flip the switch to bank 1, and you will see the bios you flashed there.

If i try to boot with bank 1 it won't boot up, and i use C:bios/Xecuter2_4979 and then it just shuts down and when i boot up agian it just goes back to the bios 3.0.3

What is Xecuter2_4979? Get 5032, it is the latest build.

4079 does not work with a 1.6. No executer bios did until the recently 5031 and 5032. You use to have to use evox M8 bios. But now with the new x2 bios we are good to go. I bet when you try it, it solves your prob.

I am new to mod. Intalled x2.6 and flashed all 4 banks with x2 50332 bios. All boots OK and can play original game. The same original HDD in the box. Will buy one soon. Problem is I believe flashing all 4 banks is not correct after running from the forum. It should be: 1,2 : Flashbios, 3&4: X2. If so how do I correct this problem and links to installing dashboard (EVOX) I cannot find one.

Thanks

You are fine. If you ever need to flash your bios again, there is a program called FlashX that will do the job nicely. As for dashboard install, try to get a copy of Slayers Auto Installer. I believe the latest is 2.6. I've never used it, but from what I heard it makes dashboard installs very easy.

Once you have evox installed you can flash within evox. Just copy the new bios you create to c:/bios on the box. Then you can flash via evox. Just FYI.

You can flash with Evox, but it is not recommended. FlashX is a much more reliable program to flash with.
