Hi,
I have a v 1.6 xbox and installed an xecuter 2.6 chip with lpc rebuild. When I power on the xbox the blue light shows up as well as the flash bios screen, but then freezes. When I turn the chip off it boots to msdash with error 16, green and red flashing lights on eject button.

I have checked solder points several times, and was wondering if the xbox is supposed to boot normal with the lpc rebuild and header pins installed (but the chip removed... I am assuming not?) I was also wondering if anyone had an idea to which pin may be causing this if any, an lpc or d0?

Thanks if anyone can help! Tay

Freezes on Flashbios? Use the standard Microsoft controllers, and you will be able to navigate the menu. Flashbios won't allow you to do anything buy flash a new bios to the chip.

As for error 16, did you put a new hard drive in the Xbox or anything like that?

i have tried the other controller, and other ports, as for flash bios i cannot navigate the menu after it detects my hard drive and dvd-rom. And yes, I installed a 160 gig WD.

because its a new hdd thats where the error 16 is coming from because it can't set the clock since you have nothing on the new hdd
if haven't made a backup of your original hdd then i believe you can rebuild using slayer's

make sure the controller ports' plug is connected properly to the motherboard socket

No, when you lock your hdd, you can access the m$ dash without booting with your chip. You can still copy and play your games from your dashboard...
