Hello,

Let me start off by saying I am a complete and utter xbox newb lol. Consider that my disclaimer for any ignorance displayed herein.

I have a xecuter 2.3 lite that is properly functioning that I bought a year ago, so I thought I'd use the same flash disc that I used for it, for one I recently purchased for a friend which is a xecuter 2.6 lite. I forgot the exact process of flashing, so being a moron, I just plugged the disc in.

I get the blue screen that allows you to select what you want to do next, at this point I forgot you could select these with a controller, so I thought I had to reboot it with the disc in it. At this point the screen turned black and the light around the eject button turned orange and the disc would not eject. So I turned the chip off and rebooted and the disc ejected just fine, but the bank1 startup screen is now black and holds onto whatever cd is in it until I reboot with the chip off.

Bank 2 is still functioning with the blue screen, can I fix bank 1 somehow, or does it not matter as long as bank 2 works?

Now when I tried the same disc under bank 2 and selected flash bios, it simply said waiting for drive for about 3 minutes then ejected and said insert disc again without doing anything. Is this because whatever cromwell I had on there is no longer functioning for this model of chip, or is it a matter of the xbox version?

If someone could tell me exactly what bios to download/burn for this particular chip I would be greatly indebted. I just want basic Cromwell, no evox or slayer's autoinstaller or anything else that might unnecessarily confuse me  . I got it to work on my other xbox, this is proving quite infuriating :( . I'm not sure what the version is, but I _just_ bought it from xbox-modchips.com, so I assume it's rather new.

Thanks in advance

Basically you shouldn't even attempt to flash the chip until you have got the correct bios; for a 1.6 xbox you will need the evox m8 1.6 bios I've forgotten which bios you need for earlier xbox versions.

I've no idea whats happening when your on bank 1 but if bank 2 looks ok you could be lucky here.

What you need to do is make a bios disk thats got 512 mb flashbios an bank1 and a 512mb m8 on bank 2

About the disk waiting issue I've only ever had this prob when the dvd-rom cant read the disk - so use a different disk !

I know your gonna come back with more questions but look around this site all the info is here also try xbox-scene for help
