I just installed an Xecuter 2.6 modchip in my xbox, and I tried http flashing it with a 512kb X2 4977 bios file. The flash protection was off, it was set to bank one, and I uploaded it and sent it to flash, and it gave the Unknown Flash! Halting. error, so I reset my xbox, and now all I get is a FRAG, or sometimes, it turns on and just stays orange... Any ideas whats going on here?

Why use an out dated bios?
You should be using the latest X2 Bios:
x2_5035_vOLD_512k.bin - older xbox versions v1.0 - v1.5 ONLY
x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin - xbox versions v1.6 and v1.6b ONLY

Hmmm... It's a 1.0 box, and I just got those bios off of Xbins... I guess I missed that... but I've been trying some more, and for some reason it will boot up to the flashbios... I can't figure it out...
You got any LED's on the switch bank?
If it boots to Flash Bios you should be able to flash it; be it from DVD (dont try any other media...You will have a Thompson Drive) or HTTP.

Yeah, There's an hd, lan, and on\off led, it only boots up sometimes, and when i eject the tray it rebooted and frag again... it boots up fine with the chip off, and the only firewall I have is the one that comes with Windows XP.
nah i think you put the wrong bios on your chip m8, Take dreamscapers advice and give "x2 5035 old" a whirl best bios around at the min. How many banks did you flash? and if you still have bank 2 availible stick it on there. good luck
