Well, I am new to the whole 'Xbox-Modding' scene obviously, but with all that I have read about this particular install, im more then certain ive done everything right. BUT, one thing......

The D0 wire simply will not stay in place. I have got this Xbox a few years ago, after it had been refurbished. There are slight notices of it being opened before, but everything looks as if it were a normal, unmodded xbox. Anyways, I have noticed that the hole where the D0 wire inserts into, is a little bit.....larger.....then the other holes. I can easily insert the D0 wire into this hole, but no matter how much force I use to get it to stay, it simply comes right back out once I take my finger out. I moved the D0 wire into the other 2 holes around the right one, the D0 wire stays perfectly. Move it right back into the hole, will not stay.

I decided to see if my Xbox would FRAG if I held the D0 wire in place, and it still does. Is the D0 wire the problem causing the fragging? Or, is it something else?

A D0 will not cause your Xbox to FRAG. All the D0 does is tell the Xbox to boot from the LPC bus and not the onboard bios.

Alright, that is good to know then.

Well, if that is not the problem, them I am thoroughly stumped.

I set my xbox back together without the modchip installed. Worked like a charm. I decided to try setting up the modchip again. I have the Xapt3r seated perfectly, and my Xecuter is placed perfectly on it. If I do NOT have the D0 touching the motherboard, it boots perfectly to the MS dash. Once I have the D0 touching anywhere on the motherboard, a FRAG occurs.

Have any idea of what exactly would cause this then? Also, have any tips of how I can have my D0 wire stay in place, without soldering? (I am highly dangerous when I touch anything that exceeds 110 degrees. Trust me.) It seems as if the ring that goes around the specified hole, has either been forcefully removed, or its there, but not visible.

Well, any ideas? Im up for trying anything.

Dont blame me if this suggestion would ruin any of your parts. I was wondering whether it's worth a try by "doubled up" the gold wire that connects to your D0 point. That is use a small long nose plier and bend the tip of the wire to doubled up it's normal size and then squeeze the wire in? That is it would look like this when done (excuse my drawing skill)

Well, I have an extra solderless adapter (A useless Generic Solderless Adapter) .....I could go ahead and possibly try to double up the D0 wire on that, and just see if it works? Anyone else say I should go for it, or is it guaranteed to not work?

The issue is not your D0. You could try taping the wire down. One way or another you are going to have to get that D0 to stay in. I would check your switches with a multimeter. The link is in my sig. Also make sure your switches are plugged in firmly on both ends.
