Xecuter 2.6ce problem

Unfortunately I made a mistake whilst upgrading the bios my xecuter 2.6ce. (think either I used a 256kb file or used the 5035 1.6 bios) Now the xbox boots up with a blank screen. I did this from the flashbios menu in evox.

The xbox seems to boot (lights normal, hear the startup sound - just no picture).

What can I do to resolve this. Do I have to buy a programmer to reflash the chip correctly, or is there a way I can do it with my other xbox?

I have another xbox with the same config and I swapped the xecuter and proved it is just the flashed chip that is at fault. I just need to recover it if possible.

A simple breakdown of a hotswap:
1. Boot you working, modded xbox to flashbios
2. Pull the working chip
3. Plug the bad chip in
4. Flash with the proper bios.

Thanks Guys, it worked a treat!! I realised that I loaded the 1.6 5035 bios before on my 1.4 box..


I do have one more problem however, whick is a little more strange that someone may be able to help me with.

My first xbox, which I modded a while go is working 100%. Both boxes are now modded to the same spec: xecuter2.6ce/Bios x2 5035/Evox 3935.

Hardware wise my old box is a 1.1, my new is a 1.4 or 1.5.

I have no problems with ftping files/games to my old box. Works great xfers at upto 6000KB/s. The games play great once on.

However my new box only ever connects at a max speed of 800-1000KB/s. Small dash/config files seem to work once transfer ok allbeit at the slower speed. When xfering games it takes an age and when I try to run the games they do not run and crash!!!

By swapping components between boxes I have rulled out modchip, dvd drive, ide cable.

I can not see any config differrences. Evox reports 100 full duplex in the ip settings. Both xboxes are conected to the same cable switch port when used.

Any ideas? I'm thinking Hard drive maybe??

It could be hard drive, but I would try a different dashboard first. Avaluanch works well with Qwix if you have an xISO. That will use 'burst mode' transfer, and you should see much faster speeds.

What do you mean the games crash?

Right a little more information. The games crash and display the "your cd may be damaged or dirty" etc.

To rule out the whole ftp thing, i installed boxplorer to rip the game directly from the d drive to the e drive. No go. the game still gets to the start logo then displays the message.

Is is def not the cd drive as ive changed this. As suggested before I copied the evox xbe and evox ini from my working box to this one over the ones on the c drive, still the same.

This happens for every game I copy to the e drive using boxplorer or ftp.

Any suggestions??

I did think of taking my hard drive out of my other box and put it into this one to see if the problem stays with the xbox (whick may indicate the Hard drive or not).

What do I need to do to my other drive so it will boot up in another xbox (as wel as its xbox)?

I forgot to mention. The speed issue seems to have gone now, so disregard this. The files xfer at the expected for some reason now. The main issue is the games are not playing, as detailed above.

To use your other harddrive, you will have to unlock it before removing it from the working Xbox.
