I have installed the Xapt3r correctly...as per instructions on teamxecuter.com Xapt3t sits flush and only blue LED's light up, once chip and switch are installed.

When xbox is turned on with chip enabled green "flubber" loads with error #7 on screen. When xbox is turned on with chip disabled green "flubber" loads with error #5 on screen. (erroe #'s may be backwards can't remember which number for each problem)

after xapter and chip are removed Xbox does boot up and works fine.

Seems to me that the xbox won't boot from the mod chip??? any ideas as to why???

Error 5 means the hard drive is not locked, so that is the error you are getting when booting with the chip off. Error 7 means hard drive timeout. Is this a new drive?

I assumed it was because I was testing to see if the chip worked without the dvd and harddrive installed like it mentions in the install guide. I just added that in in case it was relavent. The chip was purchased from modchip.ca and I told them the same info... thier response was...

souns like a connection issue on the nosolder adpater or the chips
flash is gone bad (possibly messed it durnign install that wasnt good)
need chip to test to see if ti is the chip.

anyone have anyideas what I can do??? I don't want to pay for shipping again plus the extra cash they want to test the chip.

once again tried to install the chip... and paid a little more attention to details...

with xapt3r only installed I get blue LED's once chip is plugged in... I get both blue and red LED's. With the chip enabled, tried to boot 3 times and then FRAG. with chip disabled boots fine from xbox.

Is there any way that I can check to see if there is a BIOS on the chip??? and if not can I place one on the chip??? Is there anything that I could have done durring the install to screw up the chip???

The chips come with Flashbios on them, so I highly doubt that is the problem. What version Xbox do you have?

Check your switches with a multimeter. Big_Whoopin posted a schematic that will help in testing. Also make sure the wire for the switches is firmly plugged in at both ends.

well I'm alomost 100% perfect positive that the switch is working fine since all of the LED's turn on and off when they are supposed to. But I can double check that anyway.

The LEDs on the switches mean nothing, it can still be bad.

I'm guessing that you have a 2.6CE chip right? The chip is factory flashed with BIOS 3.0.1 for xbox v1.0-v1.6. This BIOS is on bank 1 (selectable by the switch). BIOS version 3.0.3 is on bank 2 which is applicable to only xbox v1.6B and onward. I remembered this because I stuffed up my Bank1 3.0.1 before and tried to boot using Bank2 3.0.3 but of course, all I have is a blue screen and solid organge light on the DVD button.

I would suggest that you purchase a 2.6CE Programmer (which I did) and reprogram your 2.6CE chip. This is probably faster than sending the chip back to supplier. If you decide to do this, make sure that you check out "Sticky" posting on how to use the Programmer AND make sure that you have the external switch (the one that came with the 2.6CE chip) plugged in and have the chip setting to "Enabled". Without this, your PC software "X2 BIOS Mgr-x2bm_v23" (downloadable from www.teamxecuter.com) won't be able to recognise the 2.6CE chip. I would recomend anyone to purchase the Programmer as part of the 2.6CE chip. Using this Programmer, I now have my Bank1 on X2_5035 and Bank1 on Flash BIOS 3.0.1.
