Xecuter 3 CE solderless -- system reboots 3 times then flashes red/green

I originally soldered my Xectuer 3CE into my 1.6b box and it worked fine after flashing the BIOS. My XBOX stopped powering up entirely after about 3 months and I ended up getting another 1.6b box. This time I installed the Xapt3r solderless as I was trying to save time.

If I hold the power button the M$ dashboard loads fine. If I press the power button quickly the system will try to boot 3 times then the eject light will flash red/green. The Xapt3r appears to function okay as all 5 LED's light up OK. When I connect the 3CE to it the two blue lights come on as well as the red LED indicating it is running in unprotected mode. My switch bank is set ON ON OFF OFF OFF which is the way I was using the chip before. I have tried pressing Power + Eject at the same time to load the backup BIOS but nothing happens at all.

I am still kind of a noob to this and have been trying to read up on this but can't seem to sort it out. Any assistance would be appreciated!

He moved it from a 1.6b with a working bios to another 1.6b, so I wouldn't think the bios is an issue. However, you did get the 1.6 Xapt3r right? If so, I would suggest removing it and reinstalling it in again, making sure everything is making good contact. As far as the backup bios is concerned, did you flash 3.03 to your backup bank prior to this? If not, pushing power and eject wont bring up anything for you, as it is 3.01 on the backup bank initially and that doesnt work on a 1.6b. If you still have 3.03 on your second 1mb bank (off, on, off, off, off) you can try to boot to that and reflash the first bank again to see if it actually is a bios issue.

Unfortunately I did not flash the backup bank with the 3.03 BIOS...didn't know about this at the time :( . I tried starting up with the second 1MB bank but same FRAG errors stated below. I will try to reseat the Xapt3r 1.6 that I installed last night but all 5 lights come on when I turn the power on so I am not sure if that would be the problem.

Okay, now things have turned worse. I removed the Xapt3r and tried to clean the contacts on the bottom and reseat it and now the system won't power on AT ALL!! I've removed the Xapt3r entirely now but can't seem to get the unit to power on. The system is plugged in and I'm getting +5 volts from the power supply to the orange cables that plug into the motherboard.

I followed the link that someone posted to the llama post...is the system supposed to put out 3V whenever it is plugged in or only when it's turned on. I am not getting any voltage on the "collector" when plugged in. Also the link that is shown there on resurrecting a dead XBOX seems to be dead. Is there another link somewhere with some suggestions on how to get this working again.

I think I'm cursed! This is the second XBOX that seems to have suddenly gone south on me.

I have another possibility on why it might not be turning on. One time, by accident, when I was screwing around with my 1.6 xbox, I accidently put the yellow (would be brown on a 1.6b) power cable into the dvd drive upside down. Not only did the box not power on, I also had to wait like 5 minutes or so after unplugging the drive to be able to turn it back on.

i got the above mentioned link to work, easy to check, get volage meter check that regulator power connected but xbox not turned on, check for 3.25V from collector which is the single out of the 3 connector, the one pointed to xbox chip, if no or unstable voltage less then or more then 3.25, replace the chip, should be good to go.
