Hi everyone,

This is getting a little frusterating. I have a Xecuter 3 CE installed with a Xapt3r for a 1.6 installed, and here's what happened.

I tried to flash the BIOS, and it would go to completion, but then it would say underneath the big paragraph about not turning off your XBox:

programming failed'

That's it, and then it doesn't turn itself off. This made it difficult because then I had to start loading the XBox by pressing power and eject at the same time, to make it load the backup bios so I can run FlashBIOS 3.0.1 from it. I THEN tried it numerous times trying to flash the bios, and it kept giving me the same error.

Luckily, after about 5 attempts, it went through! It turned itself off and everything, it was great! I thought I finally did it!!!

.... but no. I turn it back on, I get the blue light on the switch, it gets to the XBox - Xecuter Rox my Box screen... and then it sits there.... non stop. I mean, I started it up 15 minutes ago, and I'm looking at it right now.

Just so you know, I flashed using HTTP, my switches were ON ON OFF OFF OFF, and I definatley need some help.

Anyone with any ideas??

Just an update:

Trying to flash the bios again. HTTP ON ON OFF OFF OFF, tried using X3_1959_v16plus as well as what I had always been using, X3 3294 v16plustoo, same problem when I'm getting the programming failed error.

I dont understand why I would be getting this error, I'm really just looking for any input at all. Does this mean that the chip I got isn't any good? Has anyone ever heard of this before? Do I sound like a raving lunatic? Is that a tennis ball sitting over there, or is it an old bun with mold on it? So many questions unanswered...

but seriously, is this something anyone has heard of before?

It's possible your Xapt3r isn't making good enough contact somewhere along the lines. I'd get a still pencil eraser and rub it over the LPC points on the motherboard, as well as the extra points the sprung legs go into. Then try again.

Thanks Martin,

But luckily, I'd been reading around the forum before I had posted that, and it didn't work.

but.... oddly enough, I have it up and running now. After about 7 hours of trying to load every version of BIOS I could find, I finally got build 3029 to work.

Thank you everyone for looking. I'm starting to think that this problem is an extremely rare occurrence.

Does anyone have any solid Idea as to what this might be from?
