Problem is never had flashbios screen, only loads ms dashboard.
xecuter 3 and xapt3r installed.
d0 wire firmly in, xapt3r firmly into motherboard
switch panel x logo only ever purple.
ONCE had orange flashing light and box would not turn off.
Also a little help in understanding the led's on xapt3r and x3 chip would be useful, I currently have 3 blue & 1 red on xapt3r and 1 blue next to ground on chip itself.

thanks for the replies - any idea what would stop other led from lighting - which is seemingly the 3.3v? - sorry its the 5v that does not light up!

thanks nutsak, edited previous post as its the 5v led not lighting up.
As i am using xapt3r (no soldering at all) what are the best steps to solve a bad connection?
Have turned the box on with as much pressure on the little xapty as I dare!

pin 6 is not making a good connection if the 5v LED is not lighting up, try reseating the xapt3r like the tut sais, and make sure it's tight and straight on the LPC. other than that i'm stumped. i never have used the xapt3r, so i don't know about installing one. hopefully someone here that has can help you more. but i'm sure that the pin 6/5v is your trouble.

sorry i can't be of more help.

thanks, u got me on the right track.
still stumped though, xapt3r seems to sit in the board fine.
The first diagram i read on installing x3 showd the chip to be mounted the other way on xapt3r. Yes, i did have the x3 chip on the wrong way round and turned on the power.
someone already confirmed this wouldnt have caused a problem.

if the chip was on the adapter wrong there is a very good chance the chip is ****ed now, maybe it got the 5v or 3v to somewhere it didn't need to be.
