I have been unable to Flash my Xecuter / Xapt3r modchip.

I have checked the chip's installation, D0 connection, and the Xapt3r. All the little lights on the chips are the correct color, and the chip's onboard switch will show a flash progress bar when set to 'protect' with red LED, and protect switch on outside of Xbox set to 'off'

I have tried several different BIOSes, including the 'legal' ones. I have also tried Flashing via different types of disks, and with network to my computer. All methods I have tried will show the Flash status bar (both colors) and then when finished, shut down the Xbox.

I will then push the power button and the Xbox will power on and off 3 times, then flash Red/Green. Holding the power button will power the Xbox with the M$ flubber, and the Xbox will behave normally playing games, DVD movies, and music CDs. Holding the power and eject button will power the Xbox into the Back-up Flash mode.

I have tried all suggested variations of the Bank switches, but after showing a successfull status bar, Xbox will not boot successfully with new BIOS.

I have spent hours searching through tutorials and installation guides, but I can't find a solution.

Thanks!

I have the same issue, got the files from xbins from the directions on xbox scene. I have a version 1.1 box. flash progress bar ends, and powers off. When you go and restart, it powers on for a second then shuts off. I have tried evox bios, with a 256k spot, I have tried the latest X3 bios with both 1MB locations.

I am stumped.

Yes, I am flashing with X3 bios, as well as every other BIOS I can find, of different sizes. I have tried the 'legal' ones as well, most with same result.

I have got the BIOS from XBINS as well as other places, and I used BiosScan to check the BIOS as well.

I would ask if I'm crazy, but I already know the answer.

Thanks, Allen

I got the BIOS to work. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I DID DIFFERENT. I think I have been doing the same thing over and over again for a week, but obviously, I did something different. What could I possibly have done different?

I've been to college, I have run several large retail stores, I can read, dress myself, my pc tech / web developer friend went over everything, what happened?

I think there must be a rip in Space-Time.

Thanks for your help!!!!!
