Thanks X for awesome product. I honestly don't care how long the bios takes to come out, if it takes longer there is going to be less chance something is wrong with it. I hate when companies release buggy software. I for one hope that you and your family/friends/loved ones have a merry chanuk-kwanz-whatever and keep releasing top quality products. and to all the bitchers out there saying he's a deadbeat for not releasing his bios, when absolutely NO promises were made, STFU and GBTW. it will be released when it is ready and not before. Rememer, Xecuter is making these bioses out of the goodness of his heart and not charging you a dime for them, does microsoft release a new version of windows and give it away free? no.

Anyways, thanks again Xecuter and all of team-x

Hey Team Xecuter:
You should be relaxing right now instead of working. New features -> cool, but my X3 + 1959 works fine. It does everything that I know I need, apart from bringing me coffee during heavy gaming sessions :D

Good work so far, and happy holidays.

I agree! I am a total n00b to moding. I never modded anything in my life, not to mention soldering. I got my chip, practiced soldering on some old motherboard, and installed the chip on my 1.6 XBox. Worked fine on the first try.

People just need to read and follow directions. Installing the X3 is not very difficult as long as you read everything presented to you. The web is a wealth of information, as are these forums (aside from the Stupid Idiot Posts.) Just RTFM before modding your box and you won't have to come here bitching that its fragging and broken.

Thanks xecuter for an awesome chip. I am recommending your stuff to my friends.

Happy Holidays

Yes your chip is sooo easy to use, espically the FTP part about it, and the new hard drive. Take your time with the bios.

Can I run X3 bios on my X2.6 - no

When longhorn comes out I will probably have to buy a new pc to install it on.

I thought the sp1/sp2 comment was very appropriate !

Replacing Benq Drive

I got hold of an Xbox 360 old model on the cheap. Everything worked except the Benq DVD drive would not open.

it connects to live and everything works pretty good on it except for the DVD drive.

I purchased a brand new DVD Benq DVD drive and set about swapping it over. I unsoldered the old PCB board and soldered it into the new drive.

The DVD drive spins up and everything, but it gives me the open DVD drive message after about 10 seconds or so of spinning.

I have double checked the solders, made sure the wires were put back in the same order etc.

The only differences between the two drives I noticed that the lens thing was pretty stiff on the runners, the new one slides slowly up and down the runners. Donno if thats anything to do with it.

Any ideas where I went wrong, or did I buy a dud brand new DVD drive.

I have two others, this one I just picked up cheap and want to fix.

Any suggestions would help

Thanks

EDIT: On playing music CDs it will start of playing a few seconds then it will not play anymore

Re: Replacing Benq Drive

I'm no expert, but I did replace my Hitachi with the same problem. Maybe the problem's with the controller chip, not the drive's mechanics.

I replaced the whole drive, and flashed the "new" drive with the old drive's data instead of changing boards. Don't know if this is possible with Benq.

The old drive would open, it might take twenty presses of the button but it would eventually open. Once open it would read disks perfectly.

The new drive seems to function perfectly in every way except for the reading of disks.

I'm just wondering if it has something to do with the lens.
