Yes, I know the 2.6 programmer will work with the X3, but the colors are all off  !! And if you should make and X3 programmer why not a new software think like the X2 bios manager except for the X3?!?!

And yes I realize that a lot of work goes into your software and even more into the hardware but this would be a handy invention, Id buy one.

so you want to have to open your xbox up and take the chip out everytime a new bios is released? and honestly, if you can manage to hose all of the bios banks and the backup rom, you have no buisness owning an x3 or an xbox.

maybe i am very very mistaken, but im pretty sure that X3CL there is an option to "Flash Backup BIOS" and we also have the little backup bios protection switch jobby...... I don't have my xbox with me at the moment, its a hundred miles or so away (yes yes... the withdrawl set in after a few hours, and we're now on day 4!!!!!) so I can't verify this, but im 99% sure im right.

im not positive, but i think you can only flash the flashbios to the backup. either way, this was still a stupid idea and it won't be made.

the backup bios is just a 256k chip, seperate to the main bios chip.. I don't know but I'd imagine you can flash it with any 256k BIOS..... But i wouldn't advise it, it's always nice to know you have a bios thats very unlikely to fail to fall back onto if your X3 BIOS goes west.

Re: 0021 error

Usually it's a problem with the GPU. If you're going to do a reflow, reflow the GPU first. If that fails, reflow the SB. If that fails then you didn't reflow the GPU properly.

When testing the Xbox, you don't need to completely reassemble it - just place some heatsinks on with some thermal compound, plug in the RF board and see if it boots up.
