Have not soldered the CR4 XL yet, waiting for remaining shipment.

1. I was wondering if its possible to use an alternative DVD-drive with this chip installed. (so i can use a slim dvd-drive)
2. Is is possible to connect a HDD to the DVD-drive sata (and use it)

yes you can use a slim drive s long as the keys correct,and no you cannot use a hdd on the dvd drive line,thats all the elaboration needed here.

you actually dont even need a CR4XL, you would have been fine using a CR rev C with the dashboard version you are on. You need to update to 15574 to use the CR4XL

You can attach two USB harddrves up to 2TB formatted to FAT32 but not on the DVD drive sata

Thats if he can get an official CR Rev C, they have been discontinuted.
