Although the whole idea of the public display, and promotion of Xbox modding might bring unwanted attention to an already shady practice of creating copyright circumventing chips and "hacking" a M$ with use of a copy of XDK. Sounds like a fun thing to do, but maybe not the best idea in the world if you plan to do it more then once or do anything that could attract the police or national media.

I doubt handing out t-shirt(& making people do crazy/funny thing to get them), stickers, & flyers would attract any kind of trouble(police)...as long as the people doing it aren't acting like ignorant assholes......

And i doubt the media, especially NATIONAL media is interested in people handing things out.....

Hmmm...as the only ex-cop modder on the forum..at least I think I am...I wouldn’t suggest publicly promoting something that is illegal ..it all sounds like a good idea..but you dont see many advertisements for PC hacking and things like that...I am all for modders wearing T-shirts and maybe putting up a flyer at the local gamestop..but other than that you are opening up yourselves to search and seizure....here in the states probable cause is a very open and limpy measure...just picture your out promoting modding and x3chips and what ever else you want..you have just given any officer who knows anything about copyright laws to legally gain a search warrant for your home, if he so wanted to press the issue..and could you imagine having your box taken and examined an then Microsoft called in to be an advisory if any laws have been broken my god the hacked bios the copied games.the emulators and roms....i know this is the far extreme but it is well within the law. so i just say let the underground movement have it own voice..we all have talked to someone ...either in passing or via the Internet or at the local game store...about modding and where to go look..Heck i have a box with the lcd and proswitch..and the maint. guys from my appartment came in to put in a new fridge and they saw the blue lcd screen lit up and just about fell over each other trying to get a peek at it..so i let them go look at it and showed them what a modded box could do..bam two guys now wanting to mod their box..word will get around to those that want to hear

I doubt that you're the only ex-cop in here, but It's still a possibility.

Also, I've said it time and time again, modding your xbox isn't illegal, using it for unlawful uses is. As you can see, TeamXecuter is very careful to keep from linking directly to the illegal bioses and other questionable sites.

Modding your xbox is about as illegal as putting 20" tires on my New Ford F150..
Maybe I'll change the stereo too, and be a real rebel...
I bought it and I own it. As long as I don't pirate Games or stuff like that, it's free game...
