I have the same problem. I have a 1.1 and installed the xapt3r and tested it and it showed the blue led lights and one red LED for correct d0. installed the chip and connected to the swith to it and have tried all switch positions and cannot get the screen to show the bios. It only shows the normal bootup. any suggestions? please

check your D0 connection that you're using the correct point

thanks for the reply. I have taken the d0 wire out and installed it again to make sure. I did not hear a click but i do feel it slide in there. It iluminates the blue lights and the red one for correct d0 as it says tutorials i found. still when i boot up the xbox i just get the msdash and no bios screen. also my philips will not read anything but retail dvd's. ive tried memorex cdrw. and some crappy brand cdr and ritek g05 dvd-r and nothing will read. any suggestions

Have you tried pressing down (not too hard!) on top of the chip, whilst powering your Xbox up?

I also have this problem. I'm working with a version 1.1. When I first installed the adapter and chip the FlashBIOS screen came up. I tried to load the BIOS but the drive wouldn't read my DVDR BIOS so I turned it off. When I turned it back on there was no FlashBIOS screen. I've been repositioning the adapter and chip but still no FlashBIOS screen. HELP!!!!!!

Make sure the D0 is in correctly - I know it's fragile, but it must be in securely - it either slides in, or clicks in.

The D0 wire is in. on the solderless adapter the red light is on indicating the D0 wire is in.

*bump*

Same problem above, keeps booting to msdash, with one exception. My xapt3r red LED blinks red once when I boot up then goes away. If I take the d0 point out of the hole and boot up it doesn't do that, so it is registering that connection at least partway. Is this point the problem? The wire slid in real easily and this motherboard worked with a 2.2 lite+ for 2 years or so.

Has anyone had a xapt3r work when the red LED blinked once instead of staying on steady?

**edit** I also tried with and without the rivets that came with it. With the rivets in there the chip had trouble getting power for some reason, I had to push down on it at a certain angle for it to work. Once I got them out though it powered on fine.

Also.. I just found a few people who said it did work after just blinking once and going away so nevermind on that...

I'm going to try the rivets one more time. It's frustrating when you can't figure out exactly where the problem is.

I have never used the xapter. I know you are using this to get away from soldering but you could try soldering your D0 point to where it goes on the xapter. Or really if you can do that just try doing a wire install. Good luck. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear or if it didn't help.
