Xecuter2.6 install on 1.6 problem, turns on and off 3 times. help!

I soldered my Xecuter 2.6 to my Xbox v1.6. So when i press the power button, it turns on for a second(along with the blue light on the mod chip) and then turns off. It then does this again. Then it turns on for the third time but this time stays on and so does the blue led on the modchip. The eject button also starts to flash red(or orange i cant tell) and green, and nothing is displayed on the screen(black screen).

Anybody know what the problem is?

If i disable the modchip and turn on my xbox it will start up normally( ms dashboard).
I removed the Pin 6 like i was supposed to before i installed the chip.
I also installed the alternative 5volt wire.

Did you do the LPC rebuild ...... go over all your solder points and re check them, its easy to miss a solder point if you used the LPC rebuild board that came with the chip ..... good luck

Yup LPc or Wrong bios dude !!! did you use M8_plus bios ????? thats all that will work on a 1.6....or the New X2 5022 bios....its a beta but Im running it now on my 1.6...so far so good...no bugs yet...

before you flash any bios you need to get your chip functioning properly
as stated before go over your work and make sure you have good connections throughout your install
also make sure that the wires from the external swtich to the chip are connected properly at both ends

Turns on and off three times - ME too!

I have done a bunch of xboxes with very few problems, but I had never done a 2.6 chip in a 1.6 before.

At first, I had the same thing this person describes. Then, after finding a missing solder point I got the flashbios. I then used my disk with bios 4981.67. It read it and flashed it and then turns the box off. When I turn the box on, it turns on and back off three times. Just like the prior writer describes.

Does anyone have a suggestion? I am stuck.

you have flashed the wrong bios to your chip
X2 4981 is not compatible with 1.6 boxes

hopefully you didn't flash a 1mb of that bios and you can still use bank 2
if so, go to xbins and get the latest X2 5035 and flash the v16plus version of the bios to your chip

if both the banks frag then you will need to either get a programmer, or do a hotswap with another working chip and box
