ok, Noob here Just letting you know, Have read everything before I started, Installed the excuter 3 modchip with solderless adap, All fine and well. I had to put the bank switches to off,on,off, off to boot to the flashbios 3.0.3.. I enabled network and http the bios file x3 3294 v16plus.bin. Click on upload and flash (note that I am still on (off,on,off, off - on the banks)). Now, It went through it's flash process and come to the end and says (Programme Fail) and the front light is flashing green and amber continuasly. Stayed like that for awhile so I turned the xbox off.

Turned it back on and nothing. No signal. Xbox boots up fine with chip dissabled.

Now I think I have screwed it, Not sure, But one thing is I did not at that stage now how to put flashbios 3.0.3. onto the on,on,off, off bank and my 1.6b xbox will not boot to flashbios 3.0.1.

Is it all gone for my modchip? Will it be just easy to buy another chip or can it be saved?

Well that's just downright rude..........

Try to go to backup (power and eject at the same time) and nothing happens, Not even a backup....

Might just be easy to get another chip and keep this one for a mates xbox and he can solder his own in. LOL

Any ideas on why the backup would not be working? (As in there is not even the purple light that shows (or whatever color it is))

The backup doesn't work because it's got FlashBIOS 3.0.1 on it (which isn't supported on your Xbox version).

It's a shame you just jumped in with both feet without reading first, as DJBOOBY rightly pointed out you've flashed over your only working copy of FlashBIOS.

For your next chip:

Boot with off on off off off (BANKS 5678 - FlashBIOS 3.0.3).

Once the FlashBIOS screen is loaded, set the switches to on on off off off (BANKS 1234).

Flash your chosen BIOS and try to boot from BANKS 1234. If you get anything other than a splash/flubber screen, then re-set switches to off on off off off and try again with the above process.

If you get your splash screen and get into X3CL - make the first thing you do to flash the backup ROM with 3.0.3. Once this is done, you have a failsafe.

This information has been posted hundreds of times on the forums and with a little time spend searching, you could have prevented this!

Anyways, follow the above with the next chip and you'll be fine.

Hay, Well thanks for your advice, Oh and It's the only way to learn dude, I don't mind having to get another chip at all. As I said, Will just give it to a mate with an older xbox, No biggi.

Well no, there are two ways of learning (anything):

Trial and error (what you're doing) = risky
Researching and understanding = much safer

Since there really is a ton of information on here and Xbox-Scene, the former doesn't need to be entertained any more.

You my friend, lead a very boring life
Wait until you have a responsibility for someone else's console/computer/equipment - we'll then see how 'exciting' it is to brick something through trial and error.

Researching may be boring, but it's much more financially sound.
