I installed the chip with the solderless hookup. The xbox boots up normal and plays games normal when the chip is turned on or off. Now when I put in a copied game it says the disc has been damaged and can't be read. It does this when I chose either bank one or bank two. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking D0 is not soldered properly.

he he. Check that gold wire which is your D0. If that is in place let me know.

Flashing red and green

OK, I installed the chip and the D0 wire is still in. I can see the blue light on the chip when it boots. When I leave the chip off the xbxo boots normally. When I turn the chip on it tries to boot up a couple of times and then just flashes red and green. The stickies indicate it is a bad bios. Does Bank one and bank two stand for two different bioses? If so, how do I flash the bios for a newer version? Help!!!!!!!!!!

What bios did you flash with? What size was the bios?

bios flashing?

I did not flash the bios because I was not sure how. I can use the dvd version if I could find the dummy data. I did download the latest bios. You think it is the bios?

If the Xbox turns on and off 3 times, it is a faulty motherboard, due to a bad install or some other reason. When you copy a game, it has to be burned to a dvd-r, not a dvd +r. Always use dvd -r, don't waste time and money on anything else. The cheap generic brands work fine.

Not to be a d**k, but not one thing in your post was right.

Just because it frags does not mean the motherboard is bad. Make sure your adaptor is properly seated. If you have an Xbox where the LPC holes are filled, clean them with a stiff eraser. It may also be related to your wires going to the switch. Make sure the connectors are completly seated.

You can use media other than DVD-R. I use an Imation 650 meg CD-RW that has worked on every Xbox I have modded. To make the dummy file you just have to download the dummy program that is in the xecuter download section. Read this to learn how to make the CD/DVD. http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/

Botting but What Now?

OK, I reseated the solerless adapter and when I booted without the chip the chip on it Boots normally (good). When I turn the chip on set to bank one the Bios screen comes up and nothing more, the same occurs for bank two but it a newer Bios. I have uploaded a video for you to see if you wish. (http://www.mlsd66.ca/~dforbes/xbox.wmv)

Do I need to install something else? What's next. I assume I am OK so far now?

You are getting the flashbios screen. Read the tutorial I already said to read, and you will be all set. You want to get the X2 5035 bios. Be sure to use the right version for your Xbox.

Bios Boot Disc

OK, I have followed the tutorial and made four discs. I downloaded the bios you suggested. I created a compliant CD and included the dummy file. I put the disc in and choose to use the disc. It keeps saying waiting for drive and spitting it out? Any suggestions?

Try a different media, and try burning at a slower speed.

The Boot Disc

Hello,

I even did the Qwix version of the tutorial and turned the bios.bin, dummy.bin into an iso first and then burned with Nero. No Luck. I even did the Qwik tutorial with a DVD and no luck. It just keeps spitting it out. Maybe I will make a movie of the steps and someone can check if I am messing up but I am sure I followed the tutorial to the letter.

Slower Speed

I will try a slower speed then with the CD first. I tried two brands of DVD and one brand of cd. We'll see how slower goes.

Bios Success

OK,

I connected to my xbox by enabling network flashing. The bios installed and I was successful in booting the xbox with the chip. Sweet. I tried a backed up game my friend made and it worked just fine. Cool.

Now I have to figure out how to backup my current drive and install the new 160GB one I have. I am not sure how to do this swap. Any suggestions or tutorials you recommend?

Hard drive swap

I was under the assumption that I could use the xecuter2.6 ce chip to support a hard drive swap. Do I need EvoX?

The 2.6 supports HDD swapping, but it doesn't have drive prep in the bios like the X3 does. You best bet would be to get Slayers, and have that rebuild your drive.

EvoX Installed Hard Drive Swapped but still stumped

OK,

I got EvolutionX to run from CD-RW and connected to the XBOX. I Copied the C,D,E,F,G,X,Y,Z drives back to the PC. Then I installed the new 160GB hard drive and ran EvoX from the CD-RW again. Now in the tutorial on page http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/hdd-ftp.php it says I have to format the drive with all these raw ftp commands. Now when I reconnect back to the new drive through ftp it has all the same drives listed on the harddrive (What the?) Not sure why. Could my modchip have allowed for this? If the drives are still there do I simply copy my data back over? or do I still have to format like the tutorial says. Thanks in advance?

How do I put the games on the harddrive now?

OK,

I backed up the old HD, followed the tutorial and installed both the EVox3935 Dash on the New HD and all my old Data. Ran a test and the Evox Dash runs and the old game saves are present and functional. Cool.

Now, how the heck to I back the games onto the harddrive? My Buddy can do it and he put all his games on his drive and can play them from the drive. This is the whole point of putting a drive in but I can't see where I would do it? Do I have to install some additional software?

Huh?

OK,

I got XCommander and DVD2Xbox and ftp'd the .xbe files onto the XBOX harddrive under c:/apps/ I then changed the evox.ini to read as follows:

[Menu]

Section "Root"
{
Item "Launch DVD",ID_Launch_DVD
Item "Trainers",ID_trainer
Item "MS Dashboard",ID_MS_Dash
Item "Reboot",ID_Quick_Reboot
# Item "Power Cycle",ID_Full_Reboot
Item "Power Off",ID_Power_Off
# Item "Lock Harddisk",@210
# Item "Unlock Harddisk",@211
Section "System Utils"
{
Item "Settings",ID_Settings
Item "Flash BIOS",ID_Flash_Bios
Item "Backup",ID_Backup
Item "Skins",ID_Skins
}
Section "Launch Menu"
{
Section "Games"
{
AutoAddItem "e:\games\"
AutoAddItem "f:\games\"
SortAll
}
Section "Apps"
{
AutoAddItem "c:\apps\xcommander\default.xbe"
AutoAddItem "c:\apps\dvd2xbox\default.xbe"
AutoAddItem "f:\apps\"
SortAll
}
}
}

The only problem is when I reboot the XBOX the apps are not listed/loaded under the LoadMenu-Apps- when I use the Evox Dashboard. What am I doing wrong?
