Hi,
I just installed my Xecuter 3 chip to a motherboard without a hard drive. I have a new Hitachi 250 GB HDD. I also have a few original XBOX HDDs 8 GB/10 GB.
This is my first time doing a mod chip install. I am usually softmodding my XBOX's. I know how to prepare the hard drives with their appropriate eeprom.bin using xboxhdm with ndure makewiniso.bat program from my secondary computer i use solely for xbox.
The question now is, what steps do I take with a modchip xecuter 3?
Is it the same as softmodding? Do I need the eeprom.bin, because if I do need this eeprom.bin. I could simply hook my eeprom reader to this xbox. It has no official hard drive when I bought it on auction.
Does Xecuter 3 modchip flashbios 3.0.0 via from Internet Explorer resolve everything vs me needing to get the eeprom.bin onto the partner hard drive for this xbox with the x3 mod chip?
I just need the correct bios files from XBINS, then no further steps necessary, bam, x3 modchip could prepare my new hard drive?
I also have another question, I have a 400 gb hard drive filled with movies/games/ & music from a softmodded xbox that went bad. I have not looked into it because this downfall with it happened at same time when I was installing x3 modchip onto my other xbox.
Could I install this 400 gb hard drive into the x3 chipped console without needing to format it and preserve my files?
I tried just booting this 400gb into the x3 chipped console, then it said cannot read first sector on it getting the partition? It said this same error on a 10 gb xbox partner hdd from another console, a version 1.6 that I tried to install this x3 mod chip originally. I sort of messed this one up when I was soldering without SMT Fine solder Bearing .015 silver/tin/lead, and when i did not know about rosin soldering flux paste both I bought from Radio Shack. Then I successfully installed it to my v1.4 unit with the FOCUS video chip.
I had to clean the rosin soldering flux paste with Listerine lightly damping a napkin to clean the header solder points, and the other 3 solder points on back of xbox motherboard.
If anybody could give me some input of this x3 modchip, I will greatly appreciate this. I could not find any youtube video tutorials, except simple demonstrations.
