I told my friend I had a Jtag console on the way, and he went ahead and got one as well. We are working on his at the moment. He has a Xenon. Under the HD bay, there is an ethernet type port installed. Xellous 1.0 is already installed. However, the previous owner of the Jtag "scrubbed clean" everything before he sold it, and so at the moment there is no custom dash (the current dash has Kinect listed in system settings, so it's pretty recent).
We've looked at the noob guide by Smkface, which has been helpful. Because Xellous is already installed, we are using the #2 part of the How to Update your Jtag.
We are able to boot into Xellous, and we are able to get to connect using http over the network. So far, so good. We've downloaded the raw flash of the console a few times, and compared them using Jtag Tool. They match.
However, we're having trouble building a Freeboot NAND Image. We started with BestPig, but get the error "Your dump has not been properly extracted. The reason is unknown."
Next we tried Jtag Tool. We've copy-pasted the CPU Key into place, and double-checked it. Then we click on "Create FB", and select the flashdump.bin file.
After that, we get three errors:
ERROR: dae aha does not jive, could not encrypt segment 0!
ERROR: dae aha does not jive, could not encrypt segment 0!
Warning: dae data appears to be crypted or damaged
It does go on to create a FREEBOOT.BIN file.
Is it okay to continue with this error? Also, how do we proceed from here? We plan on using a USB thumb drive, do we just rename the freeboot.bin file to updflash.bin and place it on the thumbdrive (drive is formated FAT32).
Thanks!
