I am in the process of jtagging a xenon. when i dumped the nand 4 times, all match. it reads a bad block at block 051. 360 flash dump says bad block found at 0x.0051 at 03ff. i tried flashing freeboot with, and without remapping. either way the 360 freezes at the start up logo, and i cant sync a controller. i am using a laptop on vista, nand pro, pin headers, and Jtag tool 3.0.

EDIT when i flash back to the original nand, it works perfectly. only on freeboot is it freezing.

ahh, i wondered that. i did some searching, and that is what i was finding
the reason i wondered, is it keeps freezing at the same place. the rings go around the 360 globe, when they finish, the x glows, and it stops mid glow, 3rd time.

This is problem due to the presence of the Bad Block...There are multiple ways of going through this. I'd say you remap the original image, create a freeBOOT image using this remapped image and see if it works. If doesn't then remap this freeBOOT image and see if it works then.

i have never had to do this, i just want to make sure im doing it right. in jtag tool, i open remap, i enter the orig.bin enter the bad block and location, click add, the "remap" save as remap.bin, create freeboot off that, then flash it. i got an e71 when i flashed the freeboot after remapping.
