RGH Xenon RGH nightmare

I finally decided to take the first plunge at trying to recover the DVD key for this crappy xenon that I've had sitting around for a while but it has proven to be a bloody nightmare.

I've been modding and hacking consoles for more than 5 years now and have JTAG'ed/RGH'ed well over a few hundred consoles. When the RGH exploit first got released I got it first attempt and working perfectly with limited details available due to the early days of its release. I'm unfortunately not having the same amount of luck with this stoopid xenon. :frown:

I've know my soldering is good cause I get the green debug light flashing on my REV A coolrunner with the 7375 SMC but for some unknown reason with the 1940 donor SMC the debug light won't flash like it should. Not sure if that has anything to do with the fact it refuses to glitch or not but I have tried standard wires, coax wire for the CPU-RST, 100pf-100nf caps on A-GND and in series with CPU-RST but still no luck.

I have left it over night on three different setups:

Night 1. Standard wire for CPU_RST, 47pf on A->GND with 7375 SMC.
Night 2. Coax for CPU_RST, 47pf on A-GND, 270nf in series on CPU-RST->D with 7357 SMC.
Night 3. Standard wire for CPU_RST, 47pf on A->GND, 270nf in series on CPU_RST->D with 7375 SMC.
Night 4. Coax for CPU_RST, 47pf on A-GND with 7357 SMC.

I have also tried in between for short periods of 10-15mins with different cap values for CPU_RST and PLL_BYPASS but still NO JOY.

One final thing I tried was using the alt FT2R2 STB_CLK point to see if that would help but I'm sure you all know how that went as well.

I'm starting to really think that this Xenon I've got on CB1923 just won't bloody glitch no matter what. If it wasn't TeamX who released the news about the Xenon being glitchable I would seriously have marked it as bullcrap.

Is there anybody out there who can shed a little bit of light on how, what, where I can do to get this darn thing to glitch just ONCE so I can recover the all important DVD key?

Almost every one is in the same boat as you, however 1940 cb debug flashes for me just doesn't boot xell so it essentially act the same as 7375 for me.

Yeah, I'm sure there are plenty of people facing the same nightmare as me and as I stated in my original post "If it weren't TeamX that released the info I would of called this bullcrap."

I wonder if it has anything to do with the actual SMC as obviously for me when the 1940 CB is used it will not seem to send the reset pulse or is not completing the glitching process for me.

Maybe we could try and get a build done for the older 192x CB's and see if that will help the people with the problems in finally successfully glitching the stoopid xenons.

Any Xperts (Uber, Martin, Xecuter, e.t.c) wish to provide their valuable insight on this?

Try putting the mother board on leggs and letting the wires hang down away from the botton of the mother board see if that helps

Try using single core wires, I used wires from an old floppy cable and I was able to get into xell after tweaking the wires and + 47 nF cap. I'ts very hard to glitch xenons.

Wtf do you mean a tx confusing pic ?

The diagram I posted shows each point in a zoomed in close up

What do you want me to do come to your house and do it for you?

It's quite obvious what the issue is here. Those that have glitched successfully know what the problem
Is too.

Try reading the original rls notes again, I bet you are all doing the same thing.....and that's assuming this is anything but a recovery hack. Are you leaving it on over night? Can sometimes take up to 24 hours to
Glitch.

My bet is you've wired up and tried for 30 minutes and given up.

appokruznz the pics may seem to be confusing but they are really not if you look at it carefully and just think logically.

Uber, I assure you that I have been round for long enough to know that this is NOT anything BUT a recovery hack.

All I'm hoping to do is to get it to glitch just once so I can obatin the DVD key. Also as I have stated I have tried leaving it on for 4 nights with different configurations but have still no luck. Matter of fact the darn thing is still on at the moment from when I last turned it on over 33 hours ago still trying to glitch.

Maybe I'll try and connect up the post out monitor and check out the timing to see if I could find something a little more fitting.

Just to give an update on the situation. I have still not had any luck yet with this stoopid Xenon and due to the ridiculous amounts of soldering/desoldering of the CPU_RST point the damn pad finally lifted (it was only a matter of time).

Anyhow, no biggie I just used the alt point Test Point in between the two resistors nearby. Although I did try alt point on top of the board but that wouldn't glitch so I just used the bottom one instead.

I've currently got it running for the last 20 hours on:

68nf cap A->GND, no cap for D CPU_RST and still no luck. Tried pretty much everything already so I'm just gonna stuff this into the not glitchable console category for now.

I've tried every method mentioned already and still no luck so I'm almost certain that it must have something to do with the SMC or timing. Maybe somebody will find an answer to this in future and I'm sure there will be a fair amount of people in the same boat as me.

Good luck to all and hope you have better luck than I did with this.

I'd be concerned if you've lifted the pad full stop. It shouldn't be 'a matter of time'.

I think everyone's assuming you've soldered it properly whereas from what you've just said, I think pics are now needed.

Id agree with you, i have soldered and desoldered the xenon im trying to get the dvd key from at least 20 times now and all my pads look pristine.

yer as the others said just take a look into your soldering you sould not really be lifting pads with flux and a good clean tin tip it takes lest than a second to solder them points how would that pad be getting so hot to lift??but anyway the rgh http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83396 from reading that i went about trying a few diffrent things main thing is the bule led every 5 sec and how long it stayed on for...this setup worked for me booted xell in under 10min not the fastest but i was only after the keys so it done its job thanks tx ..
220pf on CPU_RST
47nf on PLL_BYPASS
7357 smc
alt STB_CLK point FT2R2
and a coolrunner rev a
also i used a home made wire for cpu_rst dont laugh it was the weekend and il try anything lol wire was 9" wrapped in foil and heat shrink over the top

Can you post a pic of the alt point you used for CPU_RST. I also lifted my pad. I accidentally pulled the 50ohm coax cable and it lifted the pad.

On a side note I was in the same boat as you with my first Xenon. It wouldn't glitch to xell no matter what route I tried. I had given up on it but I left everything plugged in. Powered it on in the morning and it booted xell first try under 1minute. I had re-soldered everything so many times.

tried this exact setup last night, turned it on and left it overnight
still no xell :( DAMN IT TO HELLLLLLL lol god i'm thinking the cpu in this box is just not going to respond to the glitching method.

Just to clarify to Martin and any others who question my soldering ability. The pad only lifted because of the stupid COAX cable that was advised to be used. On all the other points I have soldered/unsoldered and they ARE still all pristine.

Regardless, I had no issues with using the alt points and I'm more than capable of repairing the lifted pad as I have done for may customers before.

I've given up on this one as it is just way too much time wasted on a crappy xenon. Thanks to everybody who provided their advice and hope others will have better luck with their experiences then I have had.

Another bad luck XENON RGH....

Tried with alternative cpu reset wiring & bill bypass wiring with different wires no luck

both type of ecc images with j-runner and multibuilder still no luck.
but i got constant 5 second flashing green light in 7375 ecc cant boot into xell..

I think i have no luck...

I spend two days trying to run Xell on Xenon. I fallowed the tutorial (as well as most of you, rgh on any other xbox make no problem, same as soldering) and no luck.

I am slowly giving up... I used 50ohm coax, i've played with cpu_rst length...but doesn't get Xell.
I am using CR rev.B.

Trust me I know what you guys are going through. I am thinking that maybe the CB 1923 seems to have a problem glitching properly so I will see if I could locate another Xenon on another CB and give it a go that may clarify the situation a bit more.

Can anybody else who has glitched their xenon successfully with a CB 1923 please confirm this?

In regards to the picture for the alternate location I used for the CPU_RST point, just do a search on the other post in this forum for details on where it is. If you have problems finding it then let me know and I will point you in the right direction.

This is my first post here only to confirm that a Xenon I'm currently working on with CB 1923 won't boot xell. I've glitched countless boxes before with my coolrunner rev. a, including a Xenon with another CB though.

On this one I'm now about to give up. I've tried so far:
(every try is 24h)
Standard wires + 47pf cap + 220nf cap through same hole
Standard wires rerouted through different holes avoiding areas in tut + 47pf cap + 220nf cap
Same with only 47pf cap
Double shielded + 47pf cap

No love. I timed the dbg led (with my watch, nothing too professional) goes green every 6 secs for 0.5 secs

Green led blinks with 7375 bootloader but not with 1940.
I guess CB1923 just won't glitch. It's too much of a coincidence.

I'm not gonna spend any more time on that! Off to the next one.

P.S. I can provide any nand or ecc files you might need to debug this.
Cheers everyone and good to meet you
