I've been searching but I'm confused. I'm trying to get Xexmenu on a 500GB usb external hdd.

I just finished my jtag today, updated to the latest dash. Formatted the hard drive to FAT32, connected and formatted on the xbox.

The box shows a 16+ GB XBOX partition with a whole lot of data files. The rest of the drive is free.

Questions:

1. How do I copy/paste the Xexmenu dvd to the external drive?

2. Do I have to have a regulation M$ HDD as well to install profiles, dashboards, etc?

Yes I did search..My eyes are burning and I'm seeing double now..It's been a long ass day.

Thanks in advance for any/all help...

you need hdd1 but it can be any size up to 750gb 9.5mm (seagate momentus are good) this is needed for dlc, save games, profiles ect. format via nxe. i keep my game backups hear too which i wx360 to file format first and ftp over from laptop to games folder in fsd2.1.

You can use the 1tb 12.5mm drives but you have to alter the hard drive caddy a wee bit.

Another option is to have XEXMenu or FSD burned to a CD and leave it in the DVD drive and set the xbox to boot the disc when it is turned on once in XEXMenu or FSD you can use your USB hard drive fine. Not the best option but an option none the less.

If you don't want to fork out for a hard drive just buy a memory unit to install XEXMenu etc to0.

ok - so you have a FAT32 HDD with 16GB allocated as an MU.

So, burn a CD/DVD with /Content/0000000000000000/C0DE9999/<XeXMenu package name> on it. You should be able to 'copy' this to your MU via the NXE dashboard. If not, don't fret. You just launch it and then create the structure as burned on the disk to your MU in XeXMenu.

Actually, I injected the CODE9999 folder into the download (16 zero) folder, seems to have worked.

Now I have to replace the x-clamps in the CPU, it's heating up on me...grrrr
