XGD3 clean disc error

hi all,

I have ihas 124b with latest firmware... i have followed all the tuts to burn the games... the game burns fine however gets stuck during verify step with an IO error... then using KPROBE 2 the results of avg max PI and PF are fine too... but still the game after some time pops up an error of clean disc... what could be wrong???

might need a new laser. did you use verbatim discs?

I used Moserbaer... will use Verbatim and check the results

You say the average pi and Pif were ok but what about the max value, if you have bad spikes then you will have a problem, as above use verbs as all other disks are a pain and a waste of Money for xgd3

and dont use the tuncate method
iv also found that i have to clear the drives opc setting before every burn

i get burn failed whenever i check the option perform opc... it gives an error stating somthing like power calibration full...

I just burned the disc using Verbatim.... 4x with OPC....

A similar thing happened to me burning my backups using Verbatim mkm 003 discs. Some spindles work better than others, some drives work better than others. Try burning your backups with different settings in imgburn. After searching the web I found a post in the imgburn forum and a reply by
Lightning UK!
"I had the most consistent burns with OPC off and burning at 4x.The best eeprom settings for me were:Advanced Settings - Force HT: Yes, Online HT: No, OverSpeed: No, SmartBurn: Yes"
I tried these settings and they have worked for me (so far)

Edit: Also I noticed in the screen capture that you provided, your burning the image 'Battlefield.3.Disc.2-XPG' which is a pirated scene release. Piracy is not permitted here but im sure you don't need me to remind you about that.
