just curious, i was wondering if the hitachi was affected by all this stuff(sorry been a ehile, been real busy with newborn daughter) last time i checked the hitachi didnt have ap25 support so it was something not to worry about.
well i just got MW3 and a few other new titles that are this new format xgd3 .i am not on 3.LT(obviously)

is there a tut for us people on a older drive? the fw is pretty old 1.51lt i think.

have a good dump just not sure how to mount and burn, same as its always been?
(guru gone newb) LOL

Lots of reading to do really

Depends on what version drive you have

You can check out http://c4evaspeaks.com/

Will give you an idea what was latest firmware for your drive.

Also depends what dash you are on and guides on here now for every thing, Ubergeek has done some excellent and very detailed ones covering every setup

nice, its the 79 but i might have spoofed it to a 59, like i said been busy, when i get back from work i will do some more reading. havent updated the dash since pre ap25 as i read somewhere that the hitachi bypasses the ap25 check since it wasnt supported.

"truncated XGD3" means that the file is larger than the dvd-dl and is"compressed"(not literally)to fit on the dvd? i am confused as i see some people doing this and others not doing this. according to http://c4evaspeaks.com/ the hitachi does not support this.

Near Melbourne , Australia
truncating leaves off 3% of the data , not recommended

yep you certainly do have a bit of reading to do

so from i gather hitachi has a lt2.0 that DOES not support this truncate method, as long as i update to the right dash and flash the 2.0 i should be fine as long as i patch the AP/xgd3 it should be good (with the newest XBC)
or am i still way off?

thanX guys!

Remember to burn the XGD3 ones with the IHAS drive flashed with the required firmware and using imgburn and verbatim discs (due to the size of teh iso's) you should be good to go.

nice, thanX.
so reason for the new drive is for the size of the disc, and im guessing the truncate method is for those people who dont want to get a new drive hints the removal of the extra data?

i guess the reason i was so confused was because everything i read was for the 3.LT and all instructions are for the 3.LT
