XLCD - Fitted but can't read text?

I have fitted my XLCD-3 as described in thread

However I can't read the displayed text. I have enabled the LCD in X3 and played around with the brightness but the text is barely visible. The screen is glowing blue and you can just make out the faint text being displayed.

I have also tried tuning the LCD using XBMC settings and with no more luck. Again I can make out very faint text being produced by XBMC but only just if I am right up close.

It appears to me it could be for a number of reasons:
1. Faulty unit
2. Not installed correctly (although I have done all the obvious things like unplugging and replugging the cable between X3 and LCD)
3. There is some other setting somewhere that I need to set.

Any help / suggestions as to how to resolve this gratefully appreciated

i think the wheel on the x3 controls contrast.

Hey you have any pic of your install. I mean of the actual LCD and where you mounted it?

Pics would be cool.

yes pics would be nice and i would think the first place to adjust the lcd's contrast would be on that wheel :roll:

Problem Dumping Hitachi 79 Key using Jungle Flasher Win 7

Ok, I am using JF .73, on Windows 7 Ultimate.

I am able to put the drive in mode B easily using JF but cant play audio disk, says it fails. The drive did have problems reading disks before. After that I try dumping the key and I get Drive Rev Undetermined on Win API and Ram Upload execute failed on i/o.

Please help, give me ideas, other methods, etc. Thanks in advance!
