Hey all, i just got a Xlcd and got this beauty installed, i love it, great job team X! But i have a idea that i think would be pretty cool, dont know if it would possible of not though. Its a pretty simple idea, i think it would be kinda nifty if the Xlcd would display whatever game your playing or dash you have running. You know, when the bios loads the dash, it reads the .xbe tag and displays it on the Xlcd. For example, if your in Avalaunch, the the Xlcd would display the word "Avalaunch" Or say that you are playing halo 2, then the Xlcd would display "Halo 2" Dont know if this is possible, but i think it would be pretty cool.

Yeah, the XLCD is awesome, bigger then i thought, but its awesome, i made a forum over on X-S with some pics if you wanna check it out. But back to the question, would this be possible to do in future bios releases Team Xecuter?

The X3 is not loading the game, the dashboard would... So the X3 would show "Avalaunch" in your example, from that point on the dashboard should take over...

Well the bios should still be able to read .xbe tag and display it on the xlcd i would believe. I remember reading back in the day how the X2 IGR worked, the bios dynamically patched each individual game .xbe each time it was loaded so that when you pressed the 4 buttons in the game, it would reset to the dash. So if the bios can patch the .xbe on the fly like that, then it should be able to read the tite and display it. Also, the bios is what controls everything, the bios launches the dash, which launches the game. Without the bios, the game would not even launch.

I hope to see a extended bios version which utilize the LCD/VFD output fully. (thinking of 2M bios versions )
It is a pitty that they produce such a nice product and have so little support on it.
I know it is up to the Dashboard builders to put the support in, but face it, starting the bios and only see xecuter 3 on the screen and nothing else is a bit of a let down.

I am thinking of making it easier for dashboard builders to extract system information which could be easily done by the x3.
By suppling these features the display will be useful, which will mean more people will buy it which in turn means profit.

Exactly Sevennl, it is kinda dissapointing to only see "Xecuter 3" and "Kevins Xbox" with the lcd while playing games. Thats why i thought it would be cool if it did more, like display what game your playing, display the cpu and gpu temps while playing games, heck, maybe even display how long you have been playing the game for! lol.

It strikes me that on almost all LCD request none of the developers are posting an comment and, fair to say, leave there customers in the dark on the development of this addon which they want to sell but seemly not want to support.

Yeah, i hope that i didnt just spend 40 bucks and 2 hours installing to just see "Xecuter 3" and "Kevins Xbox" while i'm playing games. Id like to see internal temps and what game i'm playing and other stuff to that effect. But who knows, maybe X is going to implement this stuff in the next bios release, i sure hope so.

Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Hi,

I'm trying to flash my Lite On 74850c which is my first attempt to flash anything. So far I have the 360 apart with the Maximus Xtractor Pro 2 hooked up. I have the power connected from the pc, the power from the Xtractor Pro to the DVD drive of the 360, the SATA cable to a port in the pc, and the Xtractor connected via USB to the pc.

When I open 360 Xtractor Reader and Select "Scan All ATA Ports for 360" it says Cannot Scan ATA Ports.

I've come so far from knowing absolutely ZERO about this to fail now. I need help please...my hands hurt from unplugging and replugging freaking cables trying to get this to work.

I promise if someone can help me to come back and help someone else if they encounter this issue.

Please....I'm losing what mind I have left.

Ok, I ran Jungleflasher and here is what it said:

JungleFlasher 0.1.74 Beta (138)
Session Started Thu Jun 10 20:31:16 2010

This is a 32 bit process running on 2 x 32 bit CPUs
portio32.sys Driver Installed
portio32.sys Driver Started, thanks Schtrom !
Found 5 I/O Ports.
Found 2 Com Ports.
Found 7 windows drives C: D: E: F: G: H: I:
Found 1 CD/DVD drives E:

No Drive Detected! DVDkey files extraction aborted!

No Drive Detected! DVDkey files extraction aborted!

I haven't a clue what that means....oh, and yes, the drive is half open.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

are you using onboard SATA or a VIA card?

also the running log will not list the connected drive, do to the dvdkey32 tab then select the different port until you find the drive you should see something similar to this.

also make sure the drive is plugged into the main SATA port.

have you tried a new SATA cable?

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Thanks for that. I know I sound like a newbie for certain and I hate that. I learn quickly though.

I did as you said and it Jungleflasher has detected the Xtractor on Com port 7.

However in the section you highlighted, it says No Drive Detected under drive properties.

I changed all of the I/O port selections hoping it would be on there but alas....nothing.

It says Type: SATA
Channel Primary
Position Master
Device: Intel(R) ICH8R/DO/ DH SATA RAID Controller

It seems like I'm not getting any information from the drive to the motherboard. How do I know I have it in the main SATA port? I've swapped it around until I'm semi-professional at getting my big hands in there and swapping them.

I don't know the difference between a VIA and a SATA card. I'd be happy to answer if you would help.

I can't thank you enough for your help.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

your SATA ports onboard usually have numbers next to then 0 or 1 being the primary (which ever you have thats lowest)
it mybe that your HDD is plugged into it - if so power off and move your HDD to another port.

You also NEED to ensure that SATA in NOT set to RAID or ACHI in the bios.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Braveheart we have a breakthrough....well, sorta.

The SATA settings were on RAID and when I switched it to IDE it recognized the drive! Wala!

However, when I attempt to connect...it says Bad Serial Data. The tutorial says to check the USB Connector Switch box but it is grayed out. Any ideas?

I THINK I'm really close!!!

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

what probe are you using? do you have the maximus Spear?

that box you refer to is ONLY for the Maximus USBXtractor

You must ensure tray is Half open state and you are probing the R707 hole
