Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Yes I have the Maximus Spear. The blue light comes on...that it's in the right hole. I must be doing something simple wrong......I'm at work but I'll try again when I get home. I spent 11 hours straight trying to get this to work yesterday before signing up for help.

Let me see if I'm doing it right (from off the top of my head, I don't have the tutorial with me).

1. Turn on the Xtractor Pro.
2. Open Jungleflasher and verify both SATA & Com ports are showing connected.
3. Place the Spear in R707.
4. Wait for the USB checkbox to become available. Check it.
5. Press the (can't remember the name) Key to get the serial data.
6. Not sure haven't been able to get this far yet!!!

My eyes are exhausted from reading forums and pdfs and websites yesterday. I really can't show my thanks enough for your help thus far.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Braveheart! I had the drive set to half open. Apparently you can't just leave it set like that, it has to be reset after X amount of time! Who knew? Regardless I've moved forward and actually jungleflasher read my key!!!!! Now, here's my next and hopefully final hurdle.

I get an error message saying "cannot open file C:/DocumentsandSettings/HPAdministrator/Desktop/Jungleflasherv0.1.74Beta(138)/firmware/ix-ltv1.1-748.bin"

I am so close!!!!!!!!! I have read the jf tut and honestly I know this is easy and old stuff to you....but I might as well be reading Japanese. Without your help I would never ever have made it this far.

If you make it to the states sometime I owe you several beers and a good dinner.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Oh, and I downloaded the firmware and put it in the Jungleflasher file that says firmware. Is there something else I need to do with it?

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

no
did you save the file after you read your key?
if using jf 1.74 then just connect drive then refresh port and press dummy from keydb
then yes to autoload fw
then as long as key in target matches the one in source
liteon erase
then write
following on screen instructions

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

yes I saved the file after the key read.

I am using jf 1.74. when I press dummy from keydb it opens a box that says "Liteon firmware loaded to source buffer! Do you wish to autoload Lite-On iXtreme?"

If i choose yes....it gives me the error I listed above about the firmware.

When you say connect the drive, it is already connected right? I refresh the port and press dummy from keydb and the above happens.

I am so damn close....any ideas?

did you uncompress the rar file with winrar?
Well, not winrar but yes I uncompressed the file. I then moved the .bin files to the firmware folder of the jungleflasher folder.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

try to manually load the file
go to the firmware tool 32 tab
click on "open target firmware" button
select the .bin file in the firmware folder
click on "Spoof source to Target"
flash it to the drive in the DVD Key 32 tab

if it will still not load the file redownload in and extract it with winrar

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

ok Mr. Pete

I did what you said and now I'm to the point where I should flash it to the drive in the DVD key 32 tab.

I don't know what that means or how to flash it. This is my first go round...be patient.

Thank you guys so much for your help!

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

flash means to write the custom firmware to the drive so it will load burnt games.

My mistake you need to flash the drive from the MTK Flash 32 tab.

after you load the firmware and spoof your key go to MTK Flash 32 then click on "Lite-On Erase" and follow the on screen prompts.

once the drive is erased it should be in vendor mode then you click on write and it will flash the firmware to the drive, once it is done writing hit "Outro / ATA Reset" then disconnect the drive plug it back into your xbox and test it.

I think that is everything refer to the jungle flasher tutorial for more detailed instructions.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

I don't know how you guys know all this....but in my mind you're awesome. I've got my sons baseball game to go to, it's his 10th birthday....it started flashing....says writing to bank 1. I'm going to assume that's a good thing and let it run while I'm gone. Please pray for me.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

mate flashing part takes seconds! sounds like yours is frozen on the write to bank 1
dont panic!
what SATA chipset are you using?
card or motherboard?
the freeze is a SATA thing! either some settings aint right OR you have a duff cable.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

I agree with braveheart43 first thing I would try is a new cable and make sure you have the drive connected to the primary SATA port.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Guys I changed the cable and it flashed the drive! I'm just not 100% positive I flashed it with the right key.

I have put the 360 back together and it seems to be working fine. Is there any way to tell if I've done it properly other than trying a backup disc?

Ya'll are awesome to help an old fella btw!!!!!

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

if you had flashed the wrong key then no games will play even if originals work you should be fine.

Re: Please Help A 40 Year Old!

Well regular games are playing fine.....backup game just shows the XBOX 360 screen after I select Play DVD.

Burnt with Imageburn at 2.4

Any site or video suggestions on how to burn properly?
