cant you guys make an xlcd that can replace the xbox jewel? it could be backlit with a coice o colours as an alternative to other jewel mods and it would look better then an ugly rectangle somewhere else on the box. Any other suggestions anyone?

wow that actually sounds like a really cool idea to turn the jewel into an lcd... i personally like the regular ugly lcd rectangle :wink: but it still sounds like a cool idea.

Replaced Samsung Drive not working.

Hi,
I had a Samsung Drive (TS-H943) that wouldn't work so i bought a replacement drive(TS-H943) Same f/w same model everything. So Replaced the board from the original drive into the new drive and went to test it and it came up on the dashboard as "Play Dvd" Did i have to extract the Key first?. Also have another problem got a E64 Error on one of my other systems. I unplugged everything then replugged in everything still didn't work so i replaced the 12v power cable and the SATA Cable still not working. My theory is that it's a bad flash and if so that means i don't have the original Key since i bought it on Ebay any ideas??

Thanks,

Why did you make 3 topics about this in 2 different forums?

Re: Replaced Samsung Drive not working.

Solution to problem 1: Put the samsungs pcbs back into their origional drives. Then connect your origional sammy to your pc and run jungle flasher. Extract the firmware from that drive and save it somewhere safe. Disconnect the first drive and connect the replacement to the pc. Re-open jungleflasher and get the drive into vendor mode etc. Then in the firmware tool 32 tab, click on open source firmware and load the SAMOFW.bin thqat you just saved. Then autoload the ixtreme firmware. Click on the auto spoof to target button and the origional dvdkey will be placed onto the new drive. Then flash as usual. Follow the jungle flasher tutorial for details if you get stuck.

Solution for problem 2: If the dvdkey was incorrect, then you would just get the "play dvd" message. If you have already replaced the sata and power cable leading to the drive, then try reflashing it. After reflashing you find that you get "play dvd" message, then it is the wrong key for that xbox and you may need to get it jtagged if you have a compatible dashboard on the console. Hope I've been of any kind of help :)

Re: Replaced Samsung Drive not working.

@Typhoon5989,
Thanks for the help is there a Tut on flashing and extracting the Key from a sammy drive? I have a 6421A controllercard,Jungle Flasher 1.73,Dosflash64 and Ixtreme LT 1.1 for Benq and Lite-on. Also is there a Tut for extracting a DVD Key from Lite-on series drives 7xxxx,8xxxx without having to do any soldering? I have a USB Probe and i have a Connectivity Kit coming in a few Days.

Thanks

Re: Replaced Samsung Drive not working.

You can get the tutorial for jungleflasher 1.73 from this site. It will tell you EVERYTHING you need to flash your sammy drive. All you need is jungleflasher program and the sata cable to connect to your pc, also makesure portio is installed and the 6421A drivers are deleted, again it will explain how to do all this in the tutorial. Dosflash is ok but jf is a lot more user friendly. The same tutorial will also cover how to flash liteon drives as well. But you will need SLIGHTLY different equipment to flash the newer Liteon drives without soldering.
