XLCD Problem

When I installed mine at first it would only show half the screen of letters. This was because after looking closer it was touching a bit of the case. I put come electrical tape over the metal casing near the LCD and that sorted it out.

Good luck

I used BIOS 1959 from the get go. I tried going back to 1957 after reading a post earlier in this thread but that didn't help either. I don't even have the LCD fitted in my Xbox right now, it's just hanging loose for testing. So it's most definitely not shorting out or anything. The thing I don't get is why I don't see the contrast knob on the X3 chip doing anything at all to the screen. I already sent an RMA request to System-Mods.com where I bought it from. I'm modding another Xbox this week so I'll plug the LCD screen into that just for the hell of it and see what happens.

I have exactly the same problem, not with an XLCD but with an 100% compatible LCD. This worked fine on my Aladin XT before. It's wired correctly, but it seems that the x3 isn't sending any data to it. It lights up and i can change the contrast, but no letters appear.

In this case, the X3 is a holy piece of expensive crap.

Even an Aladin Chip which is cheaper than a half does it better.

If someone has a solution, let us know! :)

Re: Liteon 93450c doesn't eject after flashing

How do i repair it correctly?
Isn't it just a matter of smearing the glue over the parts that were cut?
Is the drive still repairable?

Re: Liteon 93450c doesn't eject after flashing

I also got this message after reading/dumping the firmware...

Lite-OFW.bin is missing some drive specific information.

If this is an old dummy.bin that predates ix1.5 then
if possible you should re-extract your drive info again with the latest tools..
1. JungleFlasher, this tool - DVDKey32 Tab
2. Dosflash 1.7+
3. DVDKey32 0.7+
You can rebuil the serial info if you have the original
drive available. Tick advanced view, select the Serial
sub-tab in the Source tab. Double-click the serial data.

For some newer drives this info is blank by default, if
you are happy that this is the case then there is no
need to repair the serial info.

Do you wish to proceed anyway ?

So now im not sure if my original firmware is valid for spoofing other drives like Benq. Can anyone confirm this?

Has anyone got this message before?

Re: Liteon 93450c doesn't eject after flashing

this message is not a big deal

it just means that microsoft did not enter in some calibration data into the firmware

if you enter in the data or not, it will still work

you should try to repair your traces with solder, i've found that conductive paste is less than effective in many cases, as touching a ground point is very probable

Ok thanks for that.

Is there a way to remove the glue?

How can i check the continuity using a multimeter?

Re: Liteon 93450c doesn't eject after flashing

to remove the glue, I have no idea.

to check continuity set your multimeter to the lowest ohm setting then hold your probes on either end of the trace you want to check, you will need to strip the traces to expose the copper before you can check the continuity.

if the trace is connected properly the ohm reading should be very low around 0-2 ohms, if they are broken then the resistance should be infinite.

I think that is everything.

Sounds like you grounded one of the traces to the pcb outwith the electrical trace.
