Xlink Kai messed up?

Hey guys,

I've never used xlink Kai before. Got it all set up. I can join arenas and it sees what games I have that are compatible. However, there's never anybody on! On the odd time I get in there and actually DO find people, it seems like they're all huddled in the Xbox arena for Halo 2 in the Latin America room. Is this how it is for everybody, or do I have a setting screwed up somewhere?

Also, are there any other alternatives that might yield more users to play with? I only mention xlink Kai because it's built into FSD.

Thanks!

If you're behind a wireless router you've got to set up uPnP and portforwarding to work correctly.

http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ Go on the official Xlink site and check out the tutorials they have to set it up. Pretty good info on there. You want to make sure you're IP range is set up in the 192.168.2.1xx format, etc... normally that's how most Xlink users set their stuff up and to get it to work correctly via System Link the IP pool needs to be fairly close between the different users.

But to answer your question, yeah.. there are mostly Latin American's playing, however... every now and then you can find a GoW3 game, or MW3, sometimes even Black Ops.

I have it set up. I can already connect to some games. It just looks like they're all in Latin America is all. Would like to see more north American game rooms.

-nod- if it's connecting to games you've got it right. And yeah... we'd all like to see State-side games on there... but with the DemoN out now, most people just go dual nand and continue using XBox Live.

i never got it to work.managed to login see games ect but could never join them
Sounds like your IP wasnt in range. That or maybe you were behind a wireless setup? Usually works a lot better if you hardwire the setup. I've found even using a cat5 cable between the Xbox and a WiFi Laptop running the XLink Engine works decently if your wifi router is fast enough.
