Xplorer 360 Question

Okay so today I bought a sata to usb adapter and am able to connect my Xbox 360 HDD to my laptop and using xplorer360 I can extract whatever I want. The problem is that I don't know where anything is located, or how to encode it so my computer can play it. The reason for all this is that I would like to extract my downloaded movies from the HDD to my laptop and to possibly put music onto the HDD.

Sorry this does not provide help, If i buy a sata to usb can i still flash my hdd if i dont buy a new sata card? If so what steps do i change during the flashing process
