just did a bit of benchmarking an the cable actually did make a difference...

i ripped halo2 to the hdd wiv ata33 cable an took 15mins exactley then done it wiv ata100 cables an time went down to 12mins 25secs..

not too bad..

bit faster,

scott...

Well... I'm using my original ATA33 Cable.... And i transfer to my Xbox at around 10-11 MB/s.... Which is the fastes the nick could go... So if you somehow got it done 2 mins, 35 seconds faster.... Maybe your computer was just lagged, and not transfering as fast.

If you are lucky enough to get the xtender to work, an ATA100 cable will make things faster. This is only because of the length and poor quality of the included cable. Actual speeds still won't be any faster than stock. An ATA100 cable should show virtually no improvement on a standard XBOX because the stock cable is already capable of utilizing the max speed for the XBOX IDE bus (ATA33).

I assume by "ripping" crudge meant he was using something like DVD2Xbox (local app) not FTP from PC.

I have dual drives and at least loading halo 2 works perfectly every time with my ATA 133 (80 pin) compared to the 40 pin I had before. Before a lot of times Halo 2 would not even load the map locally in just split screen in the count down and have to be restarted.

80 pin? How is it 80 pin? Do you mean 80 wire?

is it possible to have a raid setup for your xbox? As in combine lets say a 200gb and a 120gb in RAID 0 to just have virtually one fast 320gb hdd...Or is that more of a bios issue....would be pretty cool i think. BTW, the computer im using right now has 80gb (40gb x 2) in RAID 0 so thats where i got the idea...

Nope...the Xbox does not support RAID. However, hardware RAID, I would like to see how this would work. It is possible that a hardware RAID setup would work, at least I don't see any reasons for it not to work, but then again, I am certain there is some M$ BS standing in the way.

wow, little off topic there don't you think? 7.300 or is that 7,300?? Try reading some other threads before you decide to post here about network issues. It could be anything that's causing you to receive speeds of 7.3kbps (or 7,300kbps i think is what you, mean but w/e)
