I tried running XBM 0.3.6 but it wasn't working properly. Maybe because I'm running Vista.
Anyway I tried 0.5.0, and it works great but the pdf tutorial doesn't apply to this version...so I was wondering, what's the proper method to update the firmware with 0.5.0 version of the bootmaker?
Also, is the ICH8 SATA chipset okay for the firmware upgrade on the xbox with the Samsung drive? I don't know what version it is yet because I haven't cracked open the box yet. I'm trying to gather all the information before I do this.
I've also seen the video tutorial and the dude was using his xbox serial number also...I'm assuming this is not needed with the 0.5.0 version of XBM or am I wrong?
I understand that I'll have to turn off AHCI in the BIOS before I do anything.
Thanks in advance for any and all the help provided.

I have not even used v0.5 beta yet , so I have no idea. But I can tell you that if you have a Samsung version MS28, your ICH8 chipset will not work - you would need a VIA SATA chipset. If your drive is an MS25, the ICH8 should work.

Thanks for your reply.
I know that the 0.5.0 uses Samtool instead of x360sam.
