Yello and Brown DVD Cables

Any difference? I'm about to install an X3 on a 1.6b with yellow cables.

My 1.6 has brown cables, if I recall correctly.

Just wondering...

Yea color, nor ram really means anything, look a the date

ram is the best indicator, samsung=1.0-1.6, hynix=1.6b theres been a couple of people saying they got a 1.6 with hynix, but unlikely.

I thought all browns were 1.6b and some yellows were 1.6b but very few.

The brown cable people were using to indicate a 1.6b is on the power/eject switch, not the dvd drive. I've modded two 1.6b and they both had brown power/eject cables, but one had a yellow dvd drive power cable. Either way, the cable color is not as good an indicator as the ram type and/or the manufacturing date.

flashing with a laptop?

i have an acer laptop thats got an esata port on the side,is it possible to flash an xbox 360 with this port and wat cable do i need...is it a male to female sata cable or something else.my desktop pc is goosed and my laptop is now my only means of flashing...any help please guys thank you?

you cannot use esata

you would need to a buy a pcmcia sata card

can u suggesst the best card to buy and it plugs into the side of the laptop doesnt it...theres like a blankin plate does it go there?

depending on your laptop you may also need the 3/4 adapter
bout the only one on the market is made by star tech and its about 55$ dollars! HOPE THIS HELPS! I ALWAYS use my laptop. Not impossible just a pain to get going sometimes, real picky hardware.
