Yellow LAN LED on X3 switch to blue?

I've asked this before in another post where I was thinking it might be possible to use the blue LED off of an old 2.2 chip to replace the yellow LAN activity light on the switch. I finally got around to trying it and it didn't work.

I was wondering if there is any place that I can order the same type of LED that is on the switch that is blue instead of yellow. Thanks for any help.

you dont really need the same kind, but i believe any LED will do if u calculate the voltage and the resistors.

yea but fitting a 3mm led in there youd gota cut a hole in the hole damn thing. I think the yellow looks fine and realy makes it look lan like since most link status lights on routers/modems/network cards al have the bright yellow or green status lights.

Well I think redneck was refering to the surface mount LEDs they sell. I think one of them will work, but I'm not entirely sure. As far as the reasoning for getting rid of the yellow, I have used exclusevly blue LED's to mod my xbox and I would like to keep the same color scheme going. It just annoys me when I see the yellow light flashing out of the corner of my eye.

lol alright so you like blue. Im sure it will work as long as you got the proper voltage and resistance and got good conection. though i still think it would be hard to fit a blue led thats 3mm in there but if you could get that same type it should work great.

Yeah, that is what I'm hoping. I guess I'll go ahead and order one, and break out the volt meter and see what I can figure out.

hi guys im getting sent a console thats got the date 14 july 2009
and is the elite model which drive should i expect to be in hear
i know it will be a liteon but which revision ?
