Zephyr 02

Same zephyr as before(http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?149379-Zephyr-CR4-E79), after I got it booted with falcon ecc i proceeded with the rater process, like normal. I went outside, and came back to a console that was getting rrod, and weird post out. wouldnt go past post 01, then randomly jumped to post 04, 05 then rrod 0022 on stock took about 30 sec. Did the cpu blow, or does it need a reball? I keep reading conflicting stuff on this error. Now I can say I officially hate zephyr consoles. lol. I should mention that the chip still gets warm, so is that is a good sign that it is fixable?

Man, this zephyrs giving u some sh*t. I found 0022 on stock after 30 secs to be blown CPU. But It might just need reflow. If u could get a full postout on it that would tell u more. If it needs to be reflowed, the customer would be better off trading for a jasper and save u both the ball ache. Good luck mate.

Yeah, I told the customer, and he seemed to think it was due to something I did, I came to the same conclusion, but since I dont have a rework setup, there isnt much I can do about it. The falcon i did turned out great. this one not so much. On the bright side while the customer has a friend who can reball it, so I still get payed for the install, and that is what I care about. I told him if he found a better xbox, i would take the chips out and put them in that. Who knows what he will end up doing.

If it is a blown cpu, you wouldnt know where to order one with a retail nand dump? the customer would like to use this box on live.

Yeah, take a look. If you have one with a retail dump and a benq drive that would be helpful. as I said, because of the post out, and the cr4 trying to glitch on stock, and not on freeboot, I think the cpu is dead. It might just need reballed. I checked the board over for solder splashes, especially around the cpu/gpu and didnt find anything. as I said, it was connected to the rater when all of a sudden it stopped booting. I know it probably didnt over heat, because I repasted it, and it was pretty much put back together. I have no idea why it would have blown. I am chalking this up to it being a crap zephyr, as I have done about 300 RGH/JTAG boxes, and have never came across one that did this. Out of 300, I have only had 2 get RROD, one over heated because I forgot to plug in the fan. but this one was prestine, was just trying to get the consistant glitch, then it died. Who knows. I think it went, but as I dont know of any tests, other then reballing it. In other news the customer isnt that upset about it.

Any way, how much for a retail unbanned zephyr cpu and KV with a benq drive setup, Dont need the drive, just the cpu and KV. The guy has a friend who reballs stuff for a living, I am just looking at a price range.

Just curious if any one knows of a test for an xbox 360 cpu. I want to know if the system needs reballed, or if it needs the cpu replaced. as said, it is getting 0022 rrod, and the cr4 is attempting to glitch the stock nand, but not the ecc, or the freeboot image. It should be mentioned the cr_en is connected when this happens, the smc reboots about 6 times and then the rrod happens. I do recall reading somewhere that the cpu will not get warm if the protection diode is blown, and it still gets warm, which gives me hope, and if you remove the heat sync it changes to 2 rrod for overheating cpu, so I know the temp sensor is still working. God this board is driving me nuts. lol.
