RGH zephyr board wont glitch

so i have a zephyr board. no dvd key.
i installed the CR board but i get no video and no glitch.
i understand that zephyr is a pain in the but but i only need it to glich once to get the key.

i have read the nand 3 times compared.
flashed ecc file.
installed CR board.
no glitch no video.

i have tried ALT point for B/ adding the cap between GRD+A. re installing everything 3 times
im great at installing wires. i just cant get this thing to glitch.

i have also tryed programing my CR as other board but still no avail.

if i remove the CR and Flash NANDDUMP.bin it works just fine.

any ideas. cuz im out.

Let the CPU heat up and then try letting it glitch.


I just did my zephyr And it glitches into xell when the CPU is kinda hot where the fans kick In 100% speed

just tried that. no glitch. took the plastic vent off. let them get real hot almost to the point of over heat then turn of and turn on. tried that 4 times till it actually over heated. any other ideas

The cr blinks?

i used the ones out of the pack. the install is perfect. i have re done it 3 times to be sure. and this site wont let me upload pics bc they are 1.5mb. i have done many jtags and 2 other CR installs one Falcon and one slim. both work great. just need to get the dvd key off this one.

Zephyr's are troublesome. Try holding the board vertically and let the blue wire (CPU_RST) hang freely away from the board, then power on, see if it'll glitch. If it does not, unplug, replug, and power on again. The routing of CPU_RST makes a big difference.

nope. tried that. tried installing a peice of cat 6 long and short. 1 straind and 2. then tried re installing the original cable but not ran though the hole just hanging. still no luck. MFSB

How long are you letting it attempt to boot?

the longest i have let it sit is 5 min. but when i have the board out of the case on its side to let the wires hand it has no fans. so i only let is glich 4 times b4 i shut it off.

I would tread carefully when you hang your board on its vertical with no fans, you could cause a bridge under a bga chip if temps get up there. i had a zephyr that just wouldnt glitch it booted maybe 2-3 times out of 50 or so attempts.. i guess it varies console to console.

Although i didnt try the cap on it as htey say it only affects the BB jaspers but its worth a shot

I had left mine for over 10 minutes for the 2 times I got my zephyr to boot. I was like dam about time lol

Best thing to do is get a fan blowing on the cpu/gpu and try for longer with CPU_RST hanging freely. I have an ATX power supply that I use to test power projects, as well as to power the ck3, so I usually just connect a 120mm fan to it when testing boards out of the case.

4578 as far as the tut goes it says it can be
the only thing i do notice thats funny, is somtimes i get a long green flash. normaly its just a short flash.

I got same problem, fans blow up so fast but no glitch CR blink green sometime, but i have a marvellous 3 led RROD!!!!

Hi!! Same problem here.

I'm trying to make a Zephyr 4578 glitch with no successful results. I am pretty sure i've programmed correctly the CPLD with the 1.1 jed for zephyr. I have double-checked it.

In my case, the green led (the one on the xbox) is not blinking at any time, as i have seen in videos, led starts blinking and later it stops. The led on the CPLD blinks every 5 seconds so it is sending the signal but with no effect. I have made and remade the installation many times with no luck, generated many image_00000000.ecc and it didn't work either. The CPLD continues glitching the xbox on and on but it never boots.

I have also tried to restore the original nand backup and try to boot it with the CPLD. It doesn't boot either. As i have read, it seems it may boot because your CB is correct, so i suspect i have bad CPLD, bad Image_00000000.ecc or bad installation, but have checked and rechecked and i can't find anything wrong

Only when I remove the CPLD boots the xbox. I'm still trying to make it work. If i managed, i'll let you know. Until now, i think i was the only one with this problem xD
