OPEN_TRAY should be fine. You need to desolder the yellow cable from the bottom of J2D2.2 and re-attach to the stray pin on the transistor.
 of course makes sence  will get too it right away! so when i'm done should i choose aud_clamp & dvd_tray as smc points in jtag tool and reflash?

Just need too wire and its easy too follow jtag picture duno ow people can mess it up
thing is... i did follow jtag pictures, just not the ones i should be following, could'nt find one with my setup cause i did'nt know what to search for

Yep. Make sure you remove the power after flashing the NAND for at least 30 seconds to ensure you clear the existing SMC.

You're using tray_open so you will get random activity with the tray. Personally I just normally use aud_clamp and the alt. DB1F1 for Zephyrs.

Without seeing the board close up, it's hard to say what's wrong here.

you think it's the xbox that is faulty or the smc wiring? if its def the wiring i could get a whole new kit and retry from scratch..

is it worth trying?

Remember that this stopped working AFTER you flashed 13599 to it. Did you power it all down for at least 30 secs after you originally updated it?
i used flash360 to update it and since it rebooted by itself ( succesfully ) i did not get the chance to remove the power cabel, neither did i think it applied when not using an nand reader/writer..

so it's possible all your wiring was ok and you were using the SMC config which was at fault.

In which case, look over ALL solder points very carefully and if you need to, desolder them to inspect the areas your soldering to. Something might still be wrong.

so what your are saying is, i used the wrong smc config when i updated but they did'nt take effect until i completly powered down and left it for a couple of hours? cause it worked just fine after the update, it was first when i hooked it up again it failed. will take a close look right away!

edit: could you confirm out of just the picture in the first post, that it originaly hade original smc points? cause i'm starting to think it had aud_clamp and DB1F1. and i chose original smc config when i updated to 13599...

went pretty carefully over all points with magnifying glass and makro camera, all i could find was flux that i've spilled and not cleaned up.. everything else looked as good as i can tell.. tried to boot once more without success.

so i desoldered the OPEN_TRAY and moved it to DB1F1 reflashed with "Aud_clamp only" setting in jtag tool with "Xell(HDMI)" and i let it stand for a good 30minutes without anything connected to it and still e79.. should it be correct?

I can see the J2D2.1 going to DB1F1 but can't see in the pic where J2D2.2 goes. If it went to the AUD CLAMP point then it was AUD CLAMP only. It doesn't have to go to the RoL board as there is a point under the XSB which you can use.

If you've checked the soldered points and everything looks good including the components and pads you're soldering to, I'm not sure. You may have taken it as far as you can without someone else taking a look for you.

One last thing to try is to just see if it will boot to XeLLous if you just choose 'write XeLLous' in the JTAG tool app. Your current wiring is AUD CLAMP only.

was wondering maby i should attempt to revert it to the state it was in when i got it.. so i was wondering were that point is located.

yes will try soon, should i try to just write both xell and xellous or is the success rate the same?

update: tried xell, xellous, 9199 dash all failed.. but still original nand (7173) workes great.. the dash it came with was 12625. i don't know how to check what smc config it had, only way i can think of is by finding he points it could have been and check if it has been solderd to..

What tool are you using to build/write the NAND? I used CoolShrimps until 3.00. After that version, it seemed to be dodgy when selecting alternate SMC points.

I have been using Sneaky Peanuts EasyFreeboot tool and it has yet to let me down (Even helped with my stubborn Zephyr).

I had E79 issues with a Falcon and Zephyr that were both solved by switching to EFB.

i've also been suspicious about the smc option in jtag tool (don't know why) but tried EFB 13599 AUD_CLAMP no go.. but shure as hell got my hopes up! i felt it used a bit longer time until it gave me e79..

btw i've been using jtag tool 3.50

and thanx for reply!

anyone know were i can locate the alternative point for the ROL board?
