Re: ** Official JTAG Tool Thread **

its a zephyr, and right now it has nothing other than pin headers sodlered on. but i did boxdrr's method first. i can reinstall it, and try a donor nand. i have a second zephyr, can i use the nand from that to build a freeboot? i did dump the nand 5 times, allmatching, no bad blocks(on the e79) so if i get 0 bad blocks on the second board, maybe that can be my donor?

man, thank you so much for your help!!!!

he doesnt have it, that was the first question i asked him! he said he thought he saved it, but cant find it anywhere. he shares his computer...

Re: ** Official JTAG Tool Thread **

post a pic of your jtag wireing. You are haveing no trouble with reading or writing so we know thats all good. What is the cb on it? Zephyr can be tricky and most of the time its recomended to do the aud clamp and dvd tray on those. Also you have to make sure that you set the smc points correctly on Jtag tool before creating the freeboot image.
You can download a donor nand from jtag tool it would be much easier. You would also have to use 360 flasher to extract your kv from the old nand and inject it into the donor nand.

Re: ** Official JTAG Tool Thread **

ohh, how do i select the donor from jtag tool?
so i will redo my wiring, and use the aud_clamp, and dvd(i used the DB1f1 before)
what settings do i use on Jtag tool?
i guess i need to do some more research, lol. i havent had to extract my KV and stuff before, but there no better time than now to learn i guess.

No problem .. write Xell to it if your happy with your wiring and so on what ever wiring road you took you will need to make it so go to tools on the Jtag tool / Drivers and options / SMC Points / Aud_Clamp & Dvd_Tray and add you CPU Key same thing goes when you making a FB bin..

Re: ** Official JTAG Tool Thread **

this was an attempted jtag when i got it. it had an e79. even with the jtag wiringremoved, i still have an e79. i think it might be a lost cause. idk? any idea why it would still be an e79 with no jtag wiring? i was up all night working on it.
hmm.... so this thing was A-wall when you got it as an E79 and some one else attempted a JTAG than?

if thats the case do you at least have the CPU key? if so use JTAG tool to download a clean nand and inject your CPU key perhaps th u think is the stock nand is a botched up JTAG NAND/freeboot/xell install or some thing along those lines.

if you dont have your CPU key (which will really complicate things) than yes it might be a lost cause :/ as i really dont think there is much you can do to correct problems with out the CPU key, some one else here might have a better idea tho.

did you dump your orig.bin 3 times and if so did the dump match when compared?

there is also a way to check the integrety of your dump i dont know exactly what tool to use tho either try googeling for a tut about degraded (unsure if that is the purpose for this tool ot not) or try flash 360 tool

look here under checking for errors http://www.free60.org/NAND_Reading it talks about NAND integrety

option B listen to jonny up there im sure he has had more luck at trouble shooting than i lol like i said i have only done 3 TAG's myself and only had major issues with 1

once again good luck just get that CPU key and all will be good :D

im not sure if its orig.bin or if its a freeboot.bin but i did 4-5 dumps, and all match perfectly. i have never had to use a donor before. so im not sure how.
i just got a new laptop, and im trying to get everything up this right now.
no cpu key key. im going to try xell, and see what happens. i just redid my jtag wiring using boxxdr's method to the T. i feel like this is a lost cause, but i promised him i would do what i could to get it working.

if that was mine, id redump the nand and compare. write xell, resolder using alt points, boot xell and get cpu key then create new freeboot image.

if the wirings good you shouldnt be getting e79.

aud_clamp and dvd tray for all non xenons. takes 30 seconds to solder in and you cant go wrong really. thats just my opinion though.

for the dvd tray, is that db1f1? or do you go to the wire harness for the drive itslef? i;m not sure what point db2f1 really is anyway, im a noob:)

see lol i forgot you dont need your CPU key to write xell :D these guys are genious this is just a hobby of mine ive only dealt with 2 types of boards zephyr and xenon so ya listen to flashing or the other admins :p
