yeah, christmas lights are normally a sign of keyvault problems....meaning you probably put in the wrong CPU key.

I always make sure to open my nand file in 360 flash dump tool....because if I input the wrong CPU key, I'll know because it won't show me my info.

ohh ok, i have never used 360 flash tool, that will have it? cool!

I figured it out, im a 'tard! i used the wrong .bin i didnt use my original, once i opened jtag tool, input my CPU, then my first .bin, all my info came up! so i flashed my first .bin, and all is right with the world, LOL! i jtagged 2 Zephyr's today, and the world hasn't even ended yet!

i do have a question tho, why was my video so crappy? it was grainy, and tough to read?

vga cables, brand new from my slim 360 i bought a few weeks ago. it could have been resolution settings, but when it boots up to the regular screen, the logo and everything looks perfect., its only on Xell. would Xellous be any better? i used Xellous on 2 xenons i did a couple weeks ago, and the video were perfect. I used Xell because i thought i read somewhere that Xellous wouldnt work on an HDMI console. im sure i am mistaken, but didnt have time to mess with it.

If I remember right my xell looks like crap too when I boot into it. As long as the actual xbox video looks fine I wouldn't sweat it

you can also do the same thing using the KV info tab in JTAG tool 3.0 it will tell you wrong CPU key if you got it wrong

that's actually what I use....but I didn't know if the OP used jtag tool so I didn't want to bring even one more thing into the equation. lol

Jtag tool is my number 1 app!!!!

i think its every ones #1 app tho it would be nice if it included the option to select the the custom SMC solder points so we could use what ever options are available to us

JTAG tool is definitely user friendly ill give it that tho lol almost all errors when using JTAG tool are user error now

off topic: any one know how badly these new updates are going to effect a JTAG box yet? lol i cant stop thinking about it with MS handing out slims in exchange for incompatible fat consoles now

I do use use jtag tool v3.0. I wouldn't use anything else unless I had absolutely no other option .
I just read that when the final updates are finished up, that it would have remapped the processor, or something like that, rendering jtag ineffective. I'm not sure if that is true/possible, but they will be able to read drive info at their will, and drop the banhammer.

yeah I imagine that 12625 is probably the last update the jtags will see as far as dashes are concerned.

I'm sure they will still come out with patches for the games as they come along, but I double we will ever see the 13+++ dash on the jtags.

what you mean this new dash that just came out this month? why wouldnt we be able to have a hacked new dash all it should take is a bit of proper reverse engineering, i mean isent that what they did for the other freeboot versions reverse the dash and re implement it?
