hey guys i picked up a zypher on ebar for like 15 dollars, the guy said it worked fine and had no dvd drive but thats fine as its on the blades dash, so i got it to jtag it and get it running.

heres the problem he said he couldnt read the nand but hasnt really tried hard, lol all the pads were ripped off and some of the traces so i fixed some up and all test good with the multimeter but when i try to read the nand it says cant detect flash controller.

then i noticed that he knocked off the resistor at r1r1

will it read without that resistor? what dhould i replace it with if not?

well sounds like your not going to be able to read it using traditional spi method. There are other hardware's that will allow you to read the nand directly such as cygnos and progskeet I would invest in one of those and you'll have no issue reading/writing to your nand on this specific console. If team-xecuter makes a hardware like this then that of course should be your first option.

so heres the update...desoldered the nand and in the process broke a few pins lol so i trashed that one and pulled one from a dead xenon, soldered it to my normal zephyr and flashed xell to it and soldered it back to the jtagable board and got the cpu key and built a donor image, got it all flashed and its running smooth other than 2 problems. one is on hd cables the screen is washed out, its really bright white. and on hdmi its a little darker than normal. two is everytime i boot the console it goes to the new system setup screen and i finish it fine then after a reboot it does it all over again.

any help would be greatly appreciated

i cant seem to get a clear closeup pic no matter how hard i try with this crappy kodak....i believe there ws something wrong with the image as i had it on 14699 created by bestpigs tool and it would do the new system thing everytime then i used j-runner to bring it up to 14719 and all great now

and idea on how to get a clear pic of the nand?
