Hi everyone,

I just got stuck on glitching my old zephyr, flashed the CR using the xsvf file, wrote the xell ecc using the jtag tool and multibuilder and any of them alloed me to even see xell, altought the green led on the CR is blinking nicely every 5-6 seconds.
I know zephyrs are a pain in the ass but i want to give it a try.

also uploaded some photos of the soldering here http://www.mediafire.com/?ugjwlwhz5j35306

Thanx in advance!

If you have the first Xecuter CoolRunner, try adding the 68nF cap (thanks to seanr28) across points A and GND or if you have a Rev B, bridge the two pads where it says "CAP".

Also, have you routed the wires away from the coils underneath the board?

im trying with the cap right now, and i think its kinda more inconscistent, like... the times between the blinks are not regular as they were (4-7 secs) and alse sometimes the green led stays on for almost 2 seconds, dnt know if its normal or i should start to freak out xD

ive tried a few more times and its still randomly, also with unbridged cap still does not work. Its really no other possible advices for a zephyr?

Thanx in advance

You could try programming your CoolRunner with Falcon timings because they are pretty much the same in terms of hardware.

However, I haven't tried this myself but if anybody has, I am sure they will tell you if it worked or not.

Guess that i extremely lucky, as i have two zephyrs, both doing consistent 5 second boots.

The only things todo is to make sure the CR was in prog mode when you flashed the timing files (dont forget to put it back in normal mode afterwards), make sure the CR is set to Phat (if in phat mode, try slim), try different wiring ways (exactly like in the tuts vs. shortest possible way etc etc), use shielded heatshrink on the wires and make it 100% that ALL solder points are ok.

I would personally do them over if i got a install looking like yours, no offense, but to many possible points of error for my taste...

Leave them be if you are unsure, if you lift a pad, trace or SMD you will be SOL unless you can find a pro to do the job for you
