zephyr not even attempting to glitch

ok guys i have did probably in the region of 50 consoles since november with no problems (other than the usual slim random boot times) however this is the first zephyr i have attempted. anyway i programmed the board did the soldering, got my identical nand dumps made my ecc image and flashed it back to the console then switched it on expecting xell however nothing happens the green light on the console comes on but the coolrunner board just has a solid red light no flashing green and isnt attempting to glitch at all.

1. first thing i did was the usual, checked all the solder joints visually and with a meter all were perfect

2. then reflashed the board with the zephyr timing files

3. tried creating the ecc image in multibuilder instead of jtag tool and flashing that

4. tried the capacitor

5. tried another brand new coolrunner to rule out faulty board

all to no avail.

i have searched and read thru loads of other posts of people having problems with zephyrs but they still seem to be getting the green light flashing every 5 seconds or so as if its at least trying to glitch.

anybody any ideas??

something you may not want to hear, some zephyr boards just dont glitch.
it does bother me that you do not get a green light at all. even on my zephyrs that don't glitch it would still flash.

i did just have a xbox that got a RROD while i was working on it. ha ha ha
when i started it worked. when i finished it didnt work blank screen no flashing green light.

so i pulled it all out flashed back my nanddump.bim and RROD. i looked up the secondary cod it was something to do with gpu cold solder point. heat gunned it. put it all back together and the green light flashed and it glitched.

point of story go back to stock and make sure it still works. zephyr boards suck and break when the wind blows. lol

I would check the cpl_pass with a meter. I had a jasper do the same thing but when I cleaned the trace and soldered it there it glitched fine.

hi cheers guys its cb 4578.

it works fine when i go back to stock. i know that some zephyrs will not glitch but any ive read about the green light still flashes as if its at least trying mine doesnt.

as i said i have checked my soldering several times now with a meter and as somebody who has been soldering modchips since the 90s i trust my soldering.

i have tried resoldering all the points again but its just the same, the only time i ever came across the problem before was on 1 slim where i trimmed the blue wire to 39 cm and then it would not attempt to glitch so i lengthened it and it worked. might try a longer or shorter wire when i get home from work

4 for 4 zephyr here all terrible or didn't want to boot. 1 booted xell and dash once then nothing. 2 nothing. 1 glitched xell fine first try and booted dash after maybe 20 -30 hard resets!!!! i'm never glitching another EVER.

your coolrunner should be trying to glitch though but i wouldn't hold my breath for it glitching well mate. i question whether a zephyr is even worth the cost of the chip myself

i know mate its my brothers and i was doing it as a favour. the thing is if the green light was coming on the chip every 5 secs or so and it was just not glitching then at least i could say nah its not going to work, flash it back to the original nand and be done but the fact its not even doing that now means i will have to rack my brains trying to figure out if its something i did wrong:p

i don't know. i would spend 2 hours on it. trying alt points.
if that doesn't work flash it back and call it a day.
sell it or trade it for a newer board.

that's what i would do

when searching for a solution i noticed you had posted about a non glitching zephyr, ever get it sorted?

i got the no green light thing sorted, i disconnected all the wires from the cr one by one with the original nand flashed and was still just getting the flashing green light on the rol but no boot so i messed about like that for a while moving wires etc, then i noticed if i ran my green and blue wire along the bottom of the board together (which i always do on phats the console would not boot but when i seperate them it boots fine. so after i got that sorted i reconnected the cr flashed my ecc and hey presto, no glitch:D

the green light on the cr is now blinking like it should be but as with so many before me this f**king zephyr just doesnt want to glitch. looks like my brother will have to do without. cheers for all the help guys
