RGH Zephyr not glitching at all

ok guys - Have a Zephyr here - CB 4578
installed TX QSBs and Coolrunner as usual - all soldering went without a hitch.
read the NAND - 2 matching dumps, no bad blocks....lovely!
created the ecc with multibuilder 0.3 - worte the ecc - no xell.....sits with CR blinking, and no glitch....
ok - checked the wires attached to CR to ensure they are not too close to the GND and +3.3v...
reflashed the CR with the latest xsvf and jed files from TX just to make sure....no joy
created the ecc with JTAG tool....no difference.....
created the ecc with bestpigs - no difference - if I leave it long enough I get RROD - but the console is sound.
flashed original NAND - boots fine with CR disabled
been back over my soldering with a maginifier - can't see anything wrong - resolder just in case, and checked again - all looks good - sorry - don'thave any macro photos today for you - camera is in the loft, and ladder is busted lol - it's a mission to get up there

so - I untaped the wires, and let them "float free" - same issue
installed the cap across PLL_BYPASS and GND that came with CR - still no joy

downloaded multibuilder 0.5 - created ecc and flashed - still no glitch
have left the machine off for 60 seconds after writing ecc each time, just to be safe

after latest ecc flash I no longer get RROD- just a blinking green light - it's just sitting there teasing me lol

any ideas?

what comand did you use to write your .ecc file?

does the console boot on the stock image w/ CR installed?


I have had this problem and it was somehting with teh dashboard version.. i was on 13146 no glitch nothing :sigh:

figure i would update to 13604 just for research and it turned out to work, i ddnt remove the CR or move wires i just simply switched to progam mode on CR and updated on live... redumped my nand and installed ecc.. and ggbuild with ease afterwards.. it still works like a charm.

Cheers for the input guys.... I always work at command prompt level when I can.
Console boots with stock NAND and cr installed ( set to prof to disable it)..... I've done a tonne of these so I e ruled out quite a few noob mistakes I hope lol

Maybe typical, these Zephyr's are a pain to glitch. Ive got one and it boots great,but was a pain in the beginning. I had 2 bad blocks but they were good blocks. Dumb as it may sound. Is your setting on phat? Have you also cold booted it?, take out the power and then power up

Ecc was written using +w16 command in NAND pro.... Even tried a GUI... And flashed with jtag tool....it's set to phat..... I've even tried slim but no glitch light on that at all......

unlucky i can tell you this when i come accross zephyrs its always a hit or miss, ive glitched every motherboard with success that was put in front of me.. besides 3 out of 7 zephyrs. some dont glitch, i had one that would glitch only after removing power cycleing. also had one that booted xell 1 time and never since, i wish you luck but atleast give the dashboard update a shot if your not currently on 13604.:crazy:

Yep, I had the exact same result with my Zephyr. I have since replaced it with a Slim and it RGHed with 0 issues.

Wait for the damned juggernauts to come and tell you what to do lol. I BET everyone is putting their trust and waiting for the big man himself martin to come and tell diablo another big shot what to do lol.

seems as though I may have stumped everyone lol - I noticed some people mentioning multibuilder V0.6 - didn't even know this was out - haven't seen a changelog......would this help?
I may give it a try tonight anyways

mate - you're not kidding - customer is nice though so I'd like to get it going - I hate being beaten lol......I get the sinking feeling that this Zephyr issue is beyond me though - I feel like I have tried everything, and there does seem to be quite a few people out there unable to glitch some Zephyrs- ARGH! lol

HAHA - cheers mate - I wouldn't mind - the whole process was exactly the same as all of my other RGH work - all went swimmingly - apart from I cannot get xell to load pmsl - that's quite the stumbling block :facepalm:
