... ok here we go. i've done tons of jtags on xenon, and quite a few rgh's. so i believe i know a little tiny bit of what i'm doing, now onto my n00bish problem. i dumped my nand, got my keys, made a freeboot image (all with the j-runner [the version before it updated today]... anyways, when i was doing the smc part of it (or whatever it's called)... i made diodes black parts facing mobo, and black line facing the faceplate... now before i got a chance to hot glue the one that goes from J2D2 point 1 i yanked it out and destroyed the point, i dug in there a bit and found a small contact point, and soldered and it held, anyways but now i'm getting 3 rings when i run the box. should i just remove everything and do the eject tray fix ?... and if i do that do i remove all the wires even the bridge between points 4 and 7 on J2D2 ?

here are some pictures

here is J2D2 pin 2 going to front panel

You mean you destroyed DB1F1?

There are two alternate spots: FT1U2 or this spot.

Since this is a Zephyr unit, I would strongly suggest using AUD_CLAMP wiring as it will improve stability, they are bad units to JTAG just as they are for RGH ;).

I don't own those images by the way, credits go to their respective owners :).

ok. but should i leave the pin 2 from J2D2 going to front panel ? and pin 4 and 7 bridged ?... i don't know why but my pics are on photobucket and i think they block hotlinking

DB1F1 i'm sorry about not being clear with that...but what's weird is that i've gotten the keys and booted into the xbox and then it went bad on me... out of the 4 lights i got two bottom lit, and the top left is lit.

See my previous post, leave the wire bridge in place for now and test the console after you soldered to one of the alternate spots.
thank you. and if i wanted to do aud_clamp... is there a specific one for zephyr mobos ? or they all the same... i'm asking because when i searched i've found prolly about 5 different ways people were posting on how to do it. do you know one that really works if all else fails ?

tia.

Here is the transistor method by BoXXDr.

Alternatively, you could just move the wire from the ROL spot and solder it here (right leg of Q2N1).

Note that you will also need to build another FreeBOOT image with a hacked SMC (AUD_CLAMP), there is an option to do this with J-Runner (Tick AUD_CLAMP before building your image).
